Pros: easy to install, strong construction, trusted Yakima brand name. Cons: none.
As as very happy previous customer of Yakima, when I was looking for a rear mount bike rack for our SUV, we again purchased a Yakima. We bought our Yakima Bighorn 4 bike rack from a local Yakima dealer for about $160. We liked the fact that it was ...

Very pleased with this rack
by bj0nes ,Sep 08 '03
Pros: Very stable, easy & clean design. Works great. Cons: Might be tricky to get 4 bikes on there.
We have an Odyssey minivan & needed to take our bikes along on a recent camping trip. Having used strap style racks previously on cars, we knew we wanted something more stable and which would allow us to access the rear hatch. This rack seemed like the least expensive hitch mount rack (we have a 2" hitch), and its design looked like it would minimize dragging - the hitch on our van sits low, much lower than on an SUV or pickup. We were totally happy - it's easy to lower, sits securely on the hitch and the bikes were held very securely. I do think it would be a bit tricky to fit 4 bikes on, but we only had two & it was very roomy. We are very happy with it.

Best Tow-Hitch Bike Rack...Period
by pdbriggs ,Aug 26 '04
Pros: There is no pesky Scandinavian engineering Cons: NONE
This meaty rack has innovative and superior mounting system that eliminates the need for any other anti-sway bike stabilization system. Check it out before buying any other hitch rack. Deals a-plenty on line, or E-bay. Buy the dead lock system, the peace of mind is worth the little extra coin, and the cable lock for the bikes snakes neatly away into the the arm tubes when not in use. The dead lock system also comes with a locking cap for the hitch bolt that operates on the same key. You would need a blow torch to get the rack off. BEST of all...if you think you need a separate bike work stand, forget it. Pull a chair up to the Bighorn and start wrenching, plenty of room for pedal spin, break adjustment, whatever.
