A Simple Alternative to Costly Radar Detectors
Written: Mar 03 '00
Pros:Good Radar Detection
Cons:A Blue Light Works Better
I along with the rest of the 18-year-olds in the world pay no attention to those white signs with the "suggested speed limits." The fact is that all of those suggested speed limits were set by old crotchety men who live for Sunday driving at a good 15 miles per hour. No one in their right mind goes the speed limit. Plain and simple, we have too much to do and going the slowww speed limit doesn’t help us get it done any quicker. And for this fact, many of us have resorted to radar detectors for those cops who don't share our opinions of speed limits.
I however, have found the solution to the high cost, high tech radar and laser detectors. This wonderful invention is known as the "Blue Light." Yes, I am a volunteer firefighter and have a blue warning light mounted on my dash. This is better than any radar detector for one simple reason. Most cops are firefighters, and wouldn't dare give a ticket to a "brother." And if by chance, you run into a wet-behind-the-ears cop eager to pass out speeding violations, chances are you will know an officer of the law in your own fire department that would be glad to iron out any problems.
What I’m getting to is that joining a volunteer fire department severely decreases the risk of speeding violations. And besides, there is no better feeling that cruising down the road with the blue light goin' havin' people pull over just for you. All in all I highly recommend the blue light over any radar detector.
