Unsafe Driving: Early Death Sentence

The driving population has increased in the last 10 years, which in turn will result in a jump in auto accidents and road fatalities. As more young Americans become introduced to the dangers of the road, more accidents will result as the years progress. Along with the increased accident numbers comes with a larger insurance payment due to insurance companies concerns increasing. Driving Safety? Is this concept even tangible anymore? More and more teenagers have the mentality that driving 'gung ho' is the thing and will pass that attitude to others. With the increase of auto modifications/drag racing/street racing and overall high speed and dangerous driving behavior, the average driver should become concerned more every passing day. So where is this mentality coming from? The idea that quotes 'Faster is Better'. Is faster really better? Is society so involved with the fast paced nature of life that they must express it on the road as well? Personally, I don’t understand the logic behind it. Here are some ideas that will better the majority of drivers that the minority can assist with:

* If your late going to an engagement, why push time on the road?
* Night driving I tend to avoid, but if you must, drive more conservatively.
* Racing. Just don't do it! Leave it at the track.
* Very simple: Follow the speed limit.

Im part of the population that likes to GET where I’m going and it would be really unfortunate to not get there because of some hotrod'in individual. Now a days, you have to drive for yourself and everyone around you. Be cautious and conservative. Otherwise, you may not get to that engagement you planned on. Believe me, I lost my best friend to this very reason. Life is to precious to waste and if your one that like a little excitement now and again, leave it out of those that don't care for it too much. We live with enough excitement already.
