| mrsmith733's Full Review: 1998 BMW 323 |
A precisely engineered car in every way. Solid, safe, fun to drive, and a great investment. Ours was rear-ended by a Toyota work truck at a red light, and it totaled the Toyota! The BMW only had a large dent on the trunklid and a scratch on the bumper. The trunklid still closed and everything. You would have thought that someone had hit the trunklid with a baseball bat, no one would have guessed that the truck that hit it was totaled. Absolutely amazing, a very well designed vehicle! The 2.5L six cylinder is smooth, gets good mileage, and has nice mid-range power thanks to variable valve timing. BMW thinks of everything... for example, gauges are lit by red light because red does not affect night vision. Tail lights and brake lights have separate fuses for right and left sides, so you won't lose both brake lights or tail lights. Genius! If you can afford it, buy a BMW.
