Wife too aggresive with my stickJan 15 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I would also suggest "busy-ness" plays a part in whether using a manual transmission makes sense. My wife, taught by me to use a manual many years ago on my (personally) rebuilt Volvo , discovered she was either too anxious or too much in a hurry to safely continue driving one. Now with three young boys, even when they weren't in the car, she felt more aggressive about starting from traffic lights, turning corners, etc. She commented to me one day, after receiving a (rare) traffic ticket for running a red light, that she was just too hassled in her life to feel comfortable using my pre-'95 Taurus SHO. Seems the added requirement of controlling the auto at the "gear level" was too much for this college grad to manage, what with all her other responsibilities. And this was BEFORE she received the cell phone, which has improved our communication, and consequently, our marriage, significantly. So guys, when she says she doesn't want to "use your stick", she probably has too much on her mind to be relaxed, and we all know what THAT means!  |
