I recently shopped at one dozen Central New Jersey New Car Dealerships prior to purchasing a new 2000 Malibu LS.Starting at the bottom of my list I can state that I would never buy ANYTHING from the Sansone Dealership in Perth Amboy. Sansone also sells many other makes of cars at other Sansone Dealerships. Future Chevrolet on US 9S in Old Bridge is a modern , well equipped dealership with a good reputation. But they do not bargain and deal on the price of their new cars.The mark-up isn't excessive so this might be a good place for you to go if you hate to haggle.Richard Lucas Dealership in Avenel makes it difficult to haggle on cars in stock.Each one I looked at had a very overpriced [in my opinion],"Dealer Pack" consisting of undercoating, paint sealant, and taped on pinstripes.The rest of the other dealerships fell into the "average" catagory.No great surprises,good or bad. The exception was Laffin Chevrolet & Oldsmobile in South River. I was able to negotiate an excellent price without the stress of the game playing usually associated
with negotiating a car deal.They were even "no-pressure" on the dealer add-ons such as extended warranties.Salesman Skip Esposito was more than helpful.The Service Department is excellent as is the waiting area.The location of the dealership is both convenient and pleasant.Ask for salesman Skip Esposito and tell him that Mary and Roy from Starcastle Antiques sent you !
