While perhaps her experience is true - she never skidded when in 4WD mode - it has a higher chance of happening than in FWD. Technically, 4WD will not and cannot pevent skidding. It's only advantage is less risk of getting stuck while having faster "From a stop" acceleration on slippery surfaces.
