Jessaka's Road Rules
Mar 06 '00
First things first, I own the road...never forget this.
That is what I and countless other drivers would love for you to believe. Alas, the sad fact remains that we all own the road, potholes included. It is really true when people tell you to drive defensively. I don't know how many times I'd have been crushed by a MAC truck hadn't I yielded when one was supposed to yield to me. Trust no one.
I have to admit, I truly believe, that no one on the planet besides myself deserves a driver's license. I know I'm not the only one in the world to feel this way (about themself).I spend A LOT of time on the road. I am taxi service to my boyfriend and my brother who both work full time. My son has daycare three times a week, appointments, shopping, etc. I am the sole possessor of a legal driver's license in my home. If I got paid for it, I would be a very rich woman. I can tell you from A LOT of experience that you can only control your own vehicle so you must be on guard at all times.
I dislike it very much when another driver zooms out into traffic in front of my car, causing me to have to suddenly slow down, because they ere shooting into traffic they didn't fit into. Even worse, after they get in at light speed, they go down to ten mph in front of you for 20 miles down the road. And you wonder where road rage comes from? who wouldn't be P O'd at that?
Please always keep your eyes on the road. This may sound obvious, but it's just not happening out there folks. If it's that important, pull over. And if someone's behind you, that's what a D I R E C T I O N A L is for,K?
SEATBELTS....need I say more? Unfortunately, yes. If you transport a child in your vehicle not properly strapped in a car seat and or seat belt, you are the Devil himself. HellSpawn , and you deserve jailtime. With torture. You don't even deserve water. You deserve to die a slow and painful death. I hope this is clear, because I can be more graphic if necessary.
NEVER flip anyone off.....Trust me....It could be a detective. Not Good. Extremely embarassing. $20 ticket for "obstructing traffic". Ridiculous charge, too embarrassing to fight it.
DON'T talk on the phone for crying out loud. Cell phones are the best thing since squeezeable ketchup bottles. They are not, however, worth crashing your car, crashing someone elses, causing an accident, injuring a child or other person, or even causing ME to lose time because you didn't notice the light was green.
Do be courteous and wave or smile at nice drivers who let you out into traffic or commit any other unheard of or rarely seen help-my-fellow-driver, random act of kindness.
Do those nice things for other drivers whenever you can.
DON'T pick your nose while in traffic.....we can see you. This applies to people who think their windows are not see-thru and stare, rudely I might add.
Just relax....nothing is so important or life threatening (unless it's medical) that you should feel compelled to speed or drive in a reckless manner.
Never speed up when people are passing you. It's nothing personal. And it's dangerous to do that. If you want to pass me , fine, who cares?
Please drive carefully and responsibly, never drink and drive, always buckle up, we love you, and stay outta my way!
