Be careful....

When buying a used car from a lot, you will always have to deal with a salesman. Many salesmen, not all, but many of them are out to get your money. Often times, a car lot will fix a car just enough to get it off of a lot. Other times, a car lot will only claim that it has fixed a problem or done work to a car or truck. Car lots also make promises that they will fix things on your new purchase.
MAKE SURE that if the salesman tells you that something was fixed, ask for a receipt to see proof. If they tell you that they will fix something for you, get their word in writing. Often times, their words are all that it takes to sell the car, then after you sign the paperwork, all bets are off.
Another good idea to do before you put any money down on the vehicle or sign anything, ask to take the car to a mechanic of your choice. Whether the mechanic be a personal mechanic, or just a local shop, you will be given a second word about the car. If the dealer will not allow you to have the car inspected, they must have something to hide.
Always remember when buying a used car, be skeptical and make sure to have all the bases covered before signing anything.
