From the Other Side

This is strictly from a woman's point of view, I'm always sitting next to the guy buying the car.
The whole song and dance when you go to buy a car is the stupidest thing I've ever seen other than the one that goes on when you buy a house. The asking price should be the selling price, not the starting point for negotiating.
I don't think women would have run things this way given the opportunity-or maybe there are some women out their in control of these situations and I haven't heard about them. The whole set up is ridiculous. The bickering back and forth-the price changes-the "I have to talk to my manager" routine. Its time-consuming, pits people against each other and is stupid.
The only man I ever saw deal with this differently was my father. He would walk into a showroom ,name his price and walk out if he didn't get it. Amazing, sensible, simple. Yes, he did get his price and once he found a dealer that would do it his way he stuck with him forever. He was a Lincoln man and got a new one almost every year so the dealer was happy and so was my Dad.
That's the only way I would buy a car, then again, I don't believe in buying something that loses its value as soon as you leave the store with it but that's a whole other epinion.
