The Lean

Lately I have seen many people doing the gangster lean...YES the Gangster lean is what it is called. Its where drivers move their seat ALL the way back and tilt the seat back too. So when I pull up next to the people doing the "lean" I can see them from their back window. Sometimes they fool people that are driving behind them that there really isn't a driver in the car since the "lean" is so extreme. It might be a cool thing to do but its not safe by all means. Imagine if someone doing the "lean" gets rear ended. They fly up from their declined seat to meet either the seat belt which is 3 feet above them or the steering wheel. Thats pretty dangerous. The "lean" even obstructs the drivers view which is not a good thing while driving.
The other Gangster Lean is when they literally hang out the window. They must be trying to pretend like their a dog or something cause they sure look like one. This is a hazard!!! What if a bug flew into their eye and they couldn't see and swerve and hit a walking pedestrian. Ever been hit by a bug..I have while riding my dirt bike, and it really hurts. They also could get their head taken off by an oncoming bus or truck thats a tight fit. Not to mention the steering ability with the person hanging out like that. The bottum line is the Gangsta Lean is not safe and should not be tried!
People should drive in a comfortable position in a more upright position ready for anything. The driver doesn't have to have their hands at the 10 and 2 position but atleast one hand on the wheel at all times. I find it good to race your car once pushing it to the limits and sitting in that position to be the best. I find it comfortable and can make turns without sliding out of my seat. I also find the limits of my car incase I have to make a sharp turn or dart out of the way of something or someone. Its also important to look sharp while driving. Not like a dog hanging out the window. So be safe and look sharp.
