My family just bought a used 1998 Ford Explorer. It was a great investment. We have six people in our family, and the seating for 5 is convenient. We also use our trucks to tow a lot of stuff. We have a horse trailer and a 19 foot boat that we tow with the Explorer. It has proven itself reliable in numerous situations where we have towed our horses and our boat for hours on end, over all types of terrain. It does not compare with our Suburban, which has seating room for 9, but the Explorer serves it purpose as a reliable second car.

Being used it had a few miles on it already, and we don't really know what the person before us did with the car, but we haven't had any problems with it yet. I love to drive it around when my dad isn't using it for work, because it is totally pimped out. The lights go on and off on their own, and the doors lock and unlock on their own too. We also have the keyless entry where one types in the code to get into the car. The seats are really comfortable and adjustable in many ways. The only thing this car lacks is a CD player...
