After buying a set of used Q-towers and cross bars from a friend at work for $50, I set out to find the perfect bike rack to complete the package. I considered buying a fork mount, but then decided that the last thing I wanted to do after a good ride was put a muddy front tire on my leather seats, so I decided to go with a frame mount.
The Lockjaw seemed like the best choice, if only because I was concerned that the AnkleBiter wouldn't hold my bike securely enough for high speed travel.
Well, these may be all good reason to buy the Lockjaw, but I hadn't stopped to think about any reasons why I might not want to buy it. Well, the only reason that I cannot recommend this rack is that it doesn't lock onto the Yakima crossbars.
I didn't think that this was that big of a deal until the rack was stolen off of my car during a concert several weeks ago. For some reason, Yakima doesn't make a non-fork mount rack that locks to the crossbars. So, for the moment, I'm without a good replacement as I refuse to buy another Lockjaw.
