I purchased the Uniden LRD 6599SWS because of its promised 360 degree detection, laser detection capability, VG 2 invisibility and the safety warning feature. In the area of 360-degree detection, the detector is questionable. My experience tended to indicate that it's detection ability was shaky in all directions except directly behind you and right in front of you. I haven't been scanned by laser yet, so I'm not sure how well that feature works. The safety-warning feature seemed like a good idea, but I have yet to see any kind of message pop up indicating any hazardous conditions. When I got a speeding ticket the cop didn't mention anything about the detector, so I suppose the VG 2 blocking worked, but the bottom line is that I still got a ticket despite this detector. If I had to do it over again I'd have done more research and gotten a different detector.
