Anyone who doesn't believe in Honda's needs to own one. Back in 1992 I bought a 1990 Honda Civic, white, 4-door , 5 speed and 1.5 motor. As soon as I drove it I fell in love with it.
Comfort:
The Honda Civic can easily fit 4 people comfortably for a trip. I have traveled from North Carolina to New Jersey, Maryland , and Tennessee. And on the highway you get some awesome miles. Back when gas wasn't $1.50 or more for regular I could get 40 miles to a gallon on the highway. Now that's gas mileage. Comfortable bucket seats is also another nice luxury.
Power:
Now I will admit it's not slow but it's not super fast either. With a 1.5 motor, it will get up and go but I wouldn't suggest pulling out in front of a speeding truck.
Reliability:
As far as things going wrong I had that car for about 6 years. In the whole time I had the car I only done about $500.00 worth of work to the car. But I never got stuck or stranded anywhere because of my Civic. To me Honda's in general are the most reliable vehicles on the market today.
For instance: (Excuse me I am a women if this sounds wrong) One of the things that happened to my Civic was the timing belt broke. But, for the most part in a lot of cars when the timing belt brakes there is a chance that it will throw a rod through the motor and that is another BIGGGGGGGGGG problem for your car. To the point a Honda has a timing belt and chain so when it goes the chain breaks and cuts the car off automatically without harming the engine. For the person who drives a lot or likes a good dependable car to get around this is the car for you. They are fairly cheep to work on and do not call for a lot of maintenance.
Durability:
I was going to leave the reliability for last but I have to tell you my sad story.
About a year before I sold my Civic I had a bad wreck. A guy t-boned my car at a stop light. He just ran straight through it without stopping and my car ended up almost totaled. There was $3000.00 dollars worth of damage to my car, but they didn't total it. The frame was bent badly and even after getting it fixed I still had problems. Something to do with the frame made my right front tire rub all the time and it ended up making it blow out. I had to put 4 new tires on the front right side within a years time.
By then we knew it was time to get rid of it. I hated to get rid of it but I got another Honda so I wasn't to much in despair. I traded my old Honda in on another 1990 Honda CRX. And soon as I got in it I loved it too, but that's another Epinion that I will write.
I put my review in the 1990 category to begin with but somehow it ended up in 1987. So I am resubmitting it into the 1990 category.
