Buying a CAR: 101Jan 21 '00 Write an essay on this topic. For all of you who are looking into buying a car whether it be new or used, heres a few tips on getting your moneys worth. First of all dont settle for the first car that you come across. Do some research, shop around until you can get a clear idea on how much that car is really worth; especially for a used car. Well lets start this out with the used car: In buying a used car, first look at the price and see if it goes with the condition of the car. Sometime the body of the car is in great condition but you really dont know whats going on in the inside. Thats why I suggest you shop around and compare prices. After you have settle down for a specific car, take it or a test drive. Take the car on residential streets as well as the freeways. By all means put the petal to the metal. This is the only way you will know how your car handles and if the engine is still in a good running condition. After taking the car out for a 15 to 20 minute drive you will get a little idea on how the car is. Just dont yet buy the car. GO home, sleep on it and see if you really want it the next morning. If you still do, go back to the seller and ask for a history on the car. Some car looks great but in actuallity the engine was rebuild after an accident. Then ask for permission to take the car to a machanic to do a check up. If the mechanic gives it a green light then start talking about the price. Here are some help in getting the price lower. First of all look at the miles. if its over 70,000 miles then you have a great argument. Simply put it this way; the car is going to be over mile soon and you really cant trust a car thats already have 70,000 plus miles on it. If that doesnt work at first then tell the seller you'll think about it and call him back in a few days, but dont let it slip too long. Someone else might have already bought it. So play your game correctly and you get the better end of the deal. ( while taking the car out for the drive, listen to how the car sounds. Also get out of the car look under the car and see if it looks ok.) Aas for new cars; when you decide on buying a certain model of car look it up in the internet and get a pricing. Its really no used to shop from one dealer to another dealer. They both carry the same car and will be virtually be priced the same. In this case, go in and take the car for a test drive. Once again, take it on the small streets and freeways. Like buying a used car, put the petal to the metal. This is the only way you will know if your car has any kind of power and how it picks up. In most case the salesman will push you to buy it on the spot. Unlike buying a used car, this car is going to last alot longer. Go home and sleep on it. After a few days if you still really want to buy that car go back and talk the price down. The salesman will offer you a base price; which is usually over priced anyways. This is what you do, make him an offer and that it is listed way less in the internet. This will surely make him lower the price. Internet prices are by far less. This also lets the salesmen know that you are knowledgable about this car that your buying. Get the price down to a reasonable range. Finally, never buy a new car that has over 100 miles on it. Think about it, is that really anew car anymore. To me, NO; too many buyers have looked at it and test drove it too many time. Hey, after all youre buying a new car; buy one that has less than 30 miles. If it was me. i would look ask them to order one from the factory will 0 miles. Now thats a new car. well thats about all that I know about buying a car. Have fun and i hope you will make the best out of finding a car that suites you. |
