If you like to speed......Jul 10 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I am pretty sure that there is quite a few of you out there that like to speed. You, probably like to speed because it is too boring for you to be a passive driver, it takes longer for you to get from one place to another, or perhaps you just enjoy going fast. On the other hand I am pretty sure that none of you like getting tickets or accidents. I speed because sometimes I am in a hurry, I don't like to be passed by others, and because I just like to go fast. Don't I do not speed in the city for because: 1) Dangerous for you and others I do not want to hurt someone or kill someone just because I am in a hurry, don't like to be passed, and just like to go fast. I am pretty sure that most of you feel the same way, but most of you don't think about it, because you are too busy thinking about pleasing yourselves. Please stop and think about what would happen if you hurt or kill someone with your car, because if such a thing happens then it is going too late to think of the consequences. 2) Too many places where police can hide In the city there is too many places for police to hide. If you think that you can speed in the city and not get caught then go right ahead and see for your self how easy it is for a cop to clock you. No radar detector is going to save you in the city because there is just not enough time for you to react. Do I speed only on the freeway because: 1) There is alot less obstacles On the freeway you don't have as many cars as in the city to worry about. You don't have to worry about someone going through a stop sign or a stoplight. You don't have to worry about someone crossing the street. Yes, freeways have their own dangers, but if you drive responsibly then you should have no problems. If you follow below rules you should be alot safer speeding on the freeway than in the city: * Speed only when the road isn't densely populated with cars. * Don't tail anyone where you are 2 feet from their trunk. * Don't pass someone at 100 m/h because chances are you are coming in too fast behind the car that you are passing and the driver wouldn't have enough time to react since it is not common for someone to be passing at 100 m/h. * Don't pull any tricks like passing in the right lane barely missing two cars. * Always be prepared for someone to swerve into you while you are passing. 2) Easy to avoid police On the freeway it is alot easier to avoid police than it is in the city. You can avoid police by using a radar detector or by knowing possible places police can hide. If you are using a radar detector then you would have enough time to respond to the signal only if cops radar gun is on and targeting other cars. As soon as a radar gun will target your car then it will be too late to respond to the signal. Don't speed if your car is the only car on the road to avoid getting caught speeding while using a radar detector. If you are using common sense by knowing where cops can hide then you should be safe in heavy traffic or when you are the only one on the road, unless you speed at night. Don't even bother speeding at night, because you cant see a cop in the dark but a cop can see your car with a radar detector. I am not encouraging anyone to speed. If you do speed then please know the dangers and consequences.  |
