Hold on to your hats!

Buying a convertible could be living out your dreams. Maybe so, but there are certain things to take into consideration when buying one in order to make it easier to enjoy that dream.
1)What color is the top? Black tops are easier to keep clean and looking new. White and Tan tops can get dirt literally ground into them, making it impossible to make them look like new again.
2)How easily is the top put up and down? If the top is aligned right, a good convertible top should only take one hand to put up and down. You don't want putting the top down or up to be a CHORE. It takes the fun out of it.
3)Does your hair tangle easily? If so, look for a convertible that creates less wind on the front passengers, buy a hat with a chin strap, or a tight baseball cap.
4)If you have small children, a convertible is not a smart idea. Being that they will be in the back seat most of the time, they take the brunt of the wind. This can be harsh on young faces and eyes.
5)Make sure the top is water tight. Even some NEW convertibles can still let water in. This makes driving in rainy weather uncomfortable for passengers and can quickly ruin upholstery.
6) Lastly, How quiet is the ride? Some convertible tops do not seal tight enough, hence there is a constant wind sound in the vehicle. If this is the case, kiss those quiet rides goodbye.
I myself am a convertible owner. I am not trying to deter anyone from buying one, but I feel that these things are important to consider when out shopping for that DREAM convertible!
