Pros: Reliable, durable, sturdy, good in snow Cons: noise inside car, underpowered, hidden cup-holder The Bottom Line: If you can deal with some noise inside and want a car that is reliable, good in poor weather and an all around good car, get the Impreza!
I purchased my Impreza about 2 1/2 years ago as a replacement to an 86 Subaru sedan. That earlier sedan had kept going and going and I wanted to stick with the Subaru name because I had such good luck with my first Subaru. I got the Impreza with 67,000 ...

Pros: Very reliable, good gas mileage, comfortable, handles nicely. Cons: Back seat a bit cozy for three adults, and sways in high winds. The Bottom Line: Very reliable car. Fun to drive.
Our First Subaru!
We did not plan on buying a Subaru Impreza in 1994 when we went car shopping. I had done my homework, and researched new and used cars through Consumer Reports Magazine. The Impreza was brand new, and there was very little...

Pros: Reliability, Nice Looking Cons: The cup holders need to go! The Bottom Line: This car has been an awesome vehicle, especially for the price we paid!
I bought this car because of the color and price. These cars come in some of the funkiest colors. Mine is purple. It drive like any other compact with a little pep. Not the quietest car in the world, but not bad. If you are looking for a car that is ...

Pros: VERY Reliable Cons: Poor cup holder design
I bought this car about 3 and a half years ago as a used vehicle. I bought it in a hurry, because my other car had died, it was Christmas Eve and I needed a car BAD. I can't tell you how happy I am with this car. I have only had two repairs to the car...

Pros: Reliability, power, gas mileage, speed, Subaru quality...hands down Cons: small seats for a 4 door sedan, TRUELY HIDDEN CUP HOLDERS The Bottom Line: The impreza is a sporty car that appeals to all ages. It is reliable & loads of fun. I am confident that you would be 110% pleased with your purchase.
Wow what can i say? its 2004 and im driving a 93 impreza. Sounds bad, but the truth: an older Subaru hands down(sadly) is a better car than most new factory made cars(or any vehicle for that matter). I bought my impreza already used with a load of ...

Pros: good mileage, dependable, tough, nice looking Cons: none The Bottom Line: Subarus are dependable, and they hold their re-sale value better than most cars--that's enough for me.
In 1992 I was involved in a head-on collision that totaled my Pontiac LeMans. I found myself in a terrible condition. I owed more on my Pontiac than the settlement price. I had to find a good, reliable, affordable car in a hurry. I...

Pros: Quick, Reliable, fun Cons: None really, when it does break down it ain't cheap to fix
I took a road trip to New York with a bunch of friends of mine, and the car we eventually decided to use was the Subaru Impreza. Why?
A. Our other choices were a 15 year old truck that shot flames from the tailpipe, My Jeep, and a...

Pros: reliable, inexpensive up keep Cons: none
I bought my used 1993 Subaru Impreza because at the time it was what I could afford. I had to have an all wheel drive vehicle due to the harsh winters. I bought it in 1994 and it had 8,000 miles on it. I have had my car for 5 years now and it now has...

Pros: Reliability, seats, headroom Cons: Noise level in the car
I bought this Impreza new, as I was living in the Northern CA mountains and I needed something I could get around with in the snow. It has been a goer, by that I mean I now have over 150,000 miles, with very little maintenance. We have replaced spark...

Pros: AWD, handling, cargo space Cons: Reliability, high cost of service, dog slow The Bottom Line: If I had sold this car at 50,000 miles I would've called it a five star reliability champ. Instead I hung on and am paying the price.
When I bought my '93 Subaru Impreza L Wagon in 1994 I was living in Colorado and needed something more nimble in the snow than my '86 Acura Integra. The Impreza seemed the right choice at the time. Although it was almost unforgivably slow (110 hp engine)...

Never dies... Ugly as hell

Pros: Reliability, handling Cons: Ugly Teal color, road noise, lack of window frames
So i bought my 1993 Subaru impreza two years ago as a short term vehicle. It is the 2wd version, and is an ugly teal color. I have put about 30,000 miles on it and the only repairs have been a battery cable, brake pads, and tires.... normal wear items!
The thing is, I want a new car, but cant justify getting one when this ugly little bastard wont die! I have about 160,000 miles on it, and fear that it will exceed 200,000 miles!
It is a bit slow when carrying passengers, and has its fair share of rattles but i cant fault the handling, especially for an older car.

Pros: Runs like a tank, reliable as the sunrise Cons: Electric windows are getting tired, Gutless engine
I bought my '93 Impreza with 6 miles on it. After 3 cross country trips, five different state registrations, and 197K miles, my wimpy little Subie still gets over 33mpg CITY! I am so sick of this car but I can't rationalize buying anything new as long as it runs so well and so economically. I have replaced more tires often than I have needed service. It's a great car and I have a feeling it'll run forever.

275,000 miles and still going

Pros: great in snow, fun to drive, like a go-cart Cons: cup holders are hidden, expensive to repair, harmonic balance wheel keeps breaking off
I have a 1993 Subaru Imprezza wagon. This car is the oddest color red and has very little rust. Can't believe this car has so many miles on it. 275,000 and counting. The cup holders, like everyone else says are truly hidden, I didn't even know for 4 months after purchasing that I had cup holders. I found out when I put a c.d player in it. I have had a few problems with my car and they were expensive to fix. The car leaked oil and I had to have all the seals replaced. The harmonic balance wheel has also broken off 2 times, each time costing about $400 to repair. The last time they just welded it on. Parts are very expensive for this car. My husband drives this car now every day to the city. I'm hoping it will last another hundred thousand miles.
