1996 Chevrolet Tahoe - A True SUV

by johnnywinter
Jun 30 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Extensive Space
Cons: Gas Mileage (Huh, really?), Rear "safety" Windows.
The Bottom Line: Definately pick up one of these bad boys, they're real winners. There is literally room for a tank or two in this car.

I recently just picked up a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe 4 door sport utility vehicle. For starters let me tell you, this car is amazing. It is definately for anyone that wants a real SUV. When I park in parking lots majority of the time it blocks both people's ...

Pros: Too many to list!
Cons: Very few!

I have '96 Tahoe which is a lease but we are planning to purchase when that runs out (in July). And I just absolutely love this vehicle! It's been extremely reliable ::knock on wood::: and we have not had any major problems with the vehicle at all....

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Strong engine, interior features, space/capacity, comfort
Cons: Quality issues, poor air conditioning, mushy brakes

The Chevy Tahoe is a very enjoyable vehicle. But your ownership experience may not be if you don't have all the information available to you before you buy.

We purchased a 1996 Chevy Tahoe LT 4 door 4WD model. My initial impression of the...

Pros: Great appearance, Strong, Lots of Creature Comforts.
Cons: Inadequate Brake pad life, Fair gas mileage.

I had been a long owner of Ford and Chrysler vehicles and decided to
change over and try out the Chevy Tahoe. I liked the appearance of
the vehicle and also its ability to carry the amount of items which I have
become accustomed...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Room, Not to big not to small
Cons: Back seat window does not roll all the way down.

I have a 1996 Tahoe that I love. The room is just perfect. Not to big and not to small. I'm a mother of a 15 month old and am expecting another child in May of 2000. This vehicle has plenty of room for all our stuff and then some. Before the Tahoe...

Pros: Size Convience
Cons: Gas Milage

Both the Suberban and the Blazer are nice automoblies but neither provide the balence and power that is the Tahoe. Now I'm as much for lots of room as the next guy but the Suberban is overkill, there is more space than i know what to do with. I love...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: comfort and low maintenance
Cons: brake wear

Like a Rock is not just an advertising gimmick. I own a 96 Tahoe with 85000 miles and it drives like it just rolled out of the showroom. I have taken it off-road, on long hi-way trips, into mountain snowstorms on ski trips and back and forth to work. I...

Pros: Looks Nice
Cons: Doesn't run too often

I brought my 1996 4 door Chevy Tahoe about five months ago because it was big and roomy - just what we were looking for. I liked the vehicle because it is a very sharp looking truck and the mileage was pretty low. (Now I know why it was so low - it...

Pros: DEPENDABLE
Cons: GAS GUZZLER

Why we love our Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe has plenty of room for our family of four. We have two small boys (4 & 2 years old) and they can't reach each other when they are in there car seats. This is a plus because they are always trying to pick on each...

Pros: NICE LOOKING

When I bought my Chevy Tahoe I thought it was an impressive vehicle. It wasn't two days and the vehicle had an injection problem. It seemed as though there was always something wrong with it. I was disappointed with the service from Chevy and the parts...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Looks, size, and comfort
Cons: High maintenance and repairs
The Bottom Line: You may get one that's you can get 300K miles out of, but I'm not willing to keep searching.

I have been a Chevy man since day one, however my '96 Tahoe was the last straw. I traded in a 1995 Z71 for the Tahoe so I could get my two yellow labs, who travel a lot with us, inside when we traveled in the rain and also to help keep things dry when...

Dec 17 '04

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Beautiful, powerful, reliable
Cons: gas mileage
The Bottom Line: This is a strong, reliable vehicle overall and gives its competitors a run for their money.

My family had a great experience with this vehicle. It had some ups and downs, much like any other vehicle. Chevrolet vehicles have never given our family any troubles, as they are built well. (For the most part) The only major problem we ...
