1996 Ford Mustang Cobra

Pros: Raw Power, Great Handling, Good Price
Cons: Exhaust Volume attracts Siren Volume!

The Ford Mustang Cobra is, in my epinion, the leader of the Mustang family. The Saleen, some would say, is supposed to lead the pack, but since Saleen is not made by Ford, it cannot lead.

This opinion is written from the perspective of a parent. In fact, I do not own this a Ford Mustang Cobra. My Ford Taurus has been in the shop for the past week. The only other vehicle that we have is a Ford Ranger Pickup. Two adults and two children...

Pros: Power, sound, comfort
Cons: Wheel hop, ground clearance

I owned a '96 laser red Cobra convertible. This car would scrape the ground constantly. It had almost no ground clearance. Wheel hop was terrible also. Going over bumps, the rear wheels would usually both be up in the air, thus causing you to lose traction. Car was very nice looking and the seats were excellent if not a little too comfy with lumbar support. More like luxury than muscle. Car had a great sounding exhaust note and was quite fast.

Cons: WHEEL HOP,LOW GROUND CLEARANCE

I bought a 1996 Cobra convertible mostly because of the cobra history and mystique. I really liked the car. It really didn't seem like a sports car though. It was just too comfortable to drive. I love the power and the exhaust note. I don't like the massive amount of wheel hop and I didn't like scraping anything taller that a cigarette butt on the ground. Car is very low. It also didn't handle too well in my opinion. Plus, the Camaro Z-28's were much faster but not nearly as attractive IMHO.
