The 1997 BMW 7 Series is available in three models --740i, 740iL and 750iL sedans. For 1997, all 7 Series come with a standard glass sunroof and an interior motion detector. The 7 series come standard with high output engines, a 4.4L V8 engine on the 740s and a 5.4L V12 on the 750. An impact sensor and side impact door protection are provided for safety. Standard security features consist of a central locking system with locking trunk and fuel door and a driveaway theft protection system that prevents the engine from starting when doors are locked. The 750iL upgrades the 740 with heated seats, premium audio, electronic damping control and high-pressure headlight cleaning system. Xenon low-beam headlights are standard on the 750.
