| The 1997 Breeze is a mid-sized car designed to compete with the likes of Pontiac Grand Am, Chevrolet Malibu, Mercury Mystique and the Ford Contour. Two new exterior colors have been added and the interior received a new floor console with an armrest, covered storage, and increased-flow rear seat heat ducts. The radios have been upgraded and a new premium stereo with CD and a six disc changer have been added for 1997. The Breeze is targeted towards value conscious young couples and families by offering air conditioning, tilt steering column, rear window defroster and more interior room and storage compartments as standard equipment.
