The 1997 Cabrio is now available in two convertible models with the addition of the new Highline model. Two new exterior paint colors Windsor Blue Metallic And Memory Red Metallic are now available for Cabrio. Standard safety features for both models include dual air bags, side impact protection, daytime running lights and an integral roll bar. A convenience group, optional on the base and standard for highline, has power windows, power/heated mirrors, and cruise control. Both models come with a standard four-cylinder engine with 115hp and five-speed manual transmission. An optional automatic four-speed is available on both models. Additional options include clearcoat metallic paint, cold weather package and compact disc player.
