Pros: Great for hauling my son's sports equipment; Cons: Drives like a pick-up; can only take two small passengers
Prologue: (mood music optional)
It was a dark and stormy night. Our heroine, who would like to be called Anastasia (even though her name is Deb) drove pensively through the Oregon countryside, focused only on the black winding ribbon of...

Pros: Smooth Ride, Nice Handling, Great style Cons: some models have had MINOR modification recalls
Nissan first came out with their new body style in 1998, when they decided to give the name "Frontier" to their very popular line of pickup trucks. Today, there are many variations of this truck, ranging from single-cab, extended cab, and even...

Pros: Good service record Cons: No rear speakers
I fancy myself an informed member of society. So before I went out and bought a new vehicle, I did a lot of research on cars and light trucks. I wanted a truck because of the utility available to haul payloads, (I used it to move me and my girlfriend 450...

Pros: style, fuel mileage, hauling capacity Cons: no way to keep things from rolling around in the storage area behind the seat
I just bought my FIRST truck. I've been running around in a little Pontiac Fiero for the last 4 years and decided it was time to get into something bigger. I took a look at the Frontier on a dealers lot and said that's the one. Without even looking...

Pros: Affordable Cons: No room for five
I bought a 98 Nissan Frontier about one and one half years ago. I knew what I wanted before I really shopping, but I was surprised that I could afford the newer Frontier, I had expected to get an older Hardbody. I had owned a Hardbody as my first new...

Pros: Value, reliability and sharp design. Cons: Lacks horse power.
When I was looking for a pick-up truck I looked at the: Toyota Tacoma; Ford F150; Ford Ranger; Nissan Frontier. The F150 was a little bigger than what I wanted and so was the price. The Ranger was the right size for me with the right price, but I thought ...

Pros: Price, Power, Quiet Ride, Solid Feeling Driving, Deep Bed for Hauling, Easy to Read Gauges, Paint is Durable against Winter Salt, Never Been to the Shop. Cons: Headlight Needed Replaced a 25,000 miles, Needs to Have Sand Bags in the Rear to Drive in Snow and Ice, Heater has a Hard Time Warming up the Truck in Below 0 Degree Temperatures.
First let me say I have used my pickup in most every way I think it can be used. I bought my 1998 Nissan Frontier in June of 1998. I have the very basic stripped down 4 cyl. model, I had the dealer add air conditioning. I have added larger wheels and...

Pros: smooth ride, lots of cargo space Cons: low fuel mileage
This is a follow-up to my first review written 12/14/99. I've been driving my truck now for 3 weeks. It's been a big adjustment from the Fiero. I took it down to Los Angeles over the New Year weekend. The ride was great. It climbed the Grapevine...

NISSAN Frontier '98 King Cab 4wd
by nikonweasel ,Mar 27 '04
Pros: NO PROBLEMS in over 86k miles. Simple to work on, I do my own maintenance. Cons: Front Hubs are manual locking.
Purchased new, a great and pleasant surprise.
Better than I had expected, truck ownership has added new utility to my life. The four cylinder has given very good mileage (25 mpg) and has more usable power than Chevy or Ford 4 cylinders. This 4 runs and performs like a 6.
