Pros: Specious back seat, excellent cornering ability, never needs maintenance. Cons: Bulky body, is always a tight squeeze when parking.
I own a Chevrolet Tahoe and it was the smartest decision to buy it than any other i have made. It's smooth ride makes it easy to ride in for those that get car-sick. One may think that a sports utility of this size may not have the needed acceleration....

Pros: good engine, lots of room, nice ride Cons: not great on gas, could get better brakes
The Chevrolet Tahoe is a vehicle that I have done tons of research on and have come to the conclusion that this is one of the best SUV'S on the market. To start, the engine can handle almost anything that you want to tow, I have a 20' boat that weights...

Solid truck
by oldbuick ,Jan 06 '05
Pros: Room, comfort, solid, handling. Cons: Mushy brakes
We bought ours new and still own it. It hasn't been without repairs, but has never left us stranded. Repairs are typical to be expected from Chevy. If you have any skills in mechanics, you can take care of most repairs yourself. It only has 50k miles, but we've been through an alternator, starter, water pump - all very easy to change out. Amazingly, these problems always occurred in our garage. Oh, expect to do front brakes about every 15k miles. It's a very solid and roomy truck. I'd like better gas mileage, but realize that it's a 2 1/2 ton vehicle with a V8. My wife is also a leadfoot, so I'm somewhat surprised it isn't worse. Gets very respectable gas mileage on the highway, though. We really need a third row seat now, but these things are too expensive.

Tahoe Blues
by dpadjett ,Oct 24 '04
Pros: Roomy, comfy, leather is always a nice touch Cons: Unexpected troubles, and gas mileage
I just purchased a 1999 Tahoe with 63000 miles. This is my first American made car. Some of the problems I encountered are warped rotors and the rear differential went out on the first trip out of town. Hopefully it's just bad luck. I am starting to wonder if I should have stayed with imports.

Would you put your family inside it?
by ur8up ,Sep 14 '04
Pros: Nothing like driving a tank in a car crash Cons: Gas hog
I am an accident reconstructionist. I own a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe for two reasons: 1. my wife would not drive the Suburban, and 2. These things are solid. I'm not saying it is the safest on the market, but I don't see too many come out on the loosing end of serious crashes. I have owned many trucks, and the first thing I noticed with the Tahoe was how solid the doors and body are. I gave up my trucks for the Tahoe because I am a family man now and I can't stomach a MINIVAN (plus I've seen too many Minivans on the loosing end of crashes). This thing is a tank. Food for thought.
