Pros: Very roomy, rides very smoothly. Nice gas mileage for an SUV. Great sound system. Cons: General Quality. Engine is good, but transmission can be a little quirky at times. The Bottom Line: Buy a Lexus, much better quality, comparable price
I bought mine gently used, as we do all of our cars. Was driving the Lexus RX300 but wanted something with a 3rd seat for hauling extra passengers. Wrongly determining quality was the same as the Toyota/Lexus, we settled on the Acura. While all in all ...

Pros: Interior design, power, very intuitive nav Cons: wind noise, gas mileage, expensive/ugly accessories The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the MDX for families that mainly need to carry people and occasionally drive in bad weather.
My family bought the MDX with Navi and Touring packages in the April of 2000. It was intended for long road trips, carrying up to 7 people and luggage, and occasionally venturing out to Tahoe for some fun in the snow. So far, it has done so in typical ...

Pros: Great ride, very comfortable, lots of options with the base model Cons: impossible to get, uses premium fuel The Bottom Line: If you can find one and stomach the premium gas charges go get one- you'll love it.
I have been looking for a SUV for wife since last September. We looked at them all and settled on the MDX for numerous reasons. One of which was the third row seat option. We just took delivery of the vehicle last week. The worst part about the car...

Pros: Good power and handling, lots of room, above average quality control. Cons: uneven interior appointments, some ergonomics, determining corners of vehicle when parking, waiting for delivery The Bottom Line: A fine vehicle when a nice luxury sedan is not quite enough to fit all the things you need to load in for a family, or a long trip.
I have reviewed this vehicle because I have been shopping for an SUV. I was hesitant to write anything, until I noticed at least half the reviewers do not even own this vehicle!
So I decided to jump in and join the fray.
I was also...

Pros: Smooth ride, powerful, accessories Cons: Cabin noise, quality, customer service The Bottom Line: My particular car had some problems and Acura's customer service was surprisingly bad. Cabin noise above 50 mph is unacceptable. Smooth and powerful but the handling is very heavy.
Pros:
1. Smooth, powerful ride.
2. Navigation system is quite useful.
3. 6 in-dash CD changer.
Cons
1. Cabin noise above 50 MPH is poor.
2. New model.
3. Waiting time to order vehicle.

Pros: Good power, Sporty (by SUV standards) handling and ride control Cons: Noise-Vibration-Harshness, Bad fake wood, cheap dashboard plastics The Bottom Line: A very good $28,000 car trying to pass as a $38,000 luxury SUV.
I have been attracted to the Acura MDX ever since I first heard about it. It claims to offer everything my family wants/needs in a family car...reliability, luxury, value, performance, style, and 7 passenger seating.
Now that I have driven it,...

Pros: Powerful Engine, versatile 3rd row of seats, very comfortable and lots of room Cons: Stock stereo could be better. The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for an upper-class, luxury SUV you MUST check out this Acura. In my opinion it gives the most value, comfort, power, and room.
I fell in love with this car the first time I gave it for a spin. The engine is very powerful for an SUV (much more powerful then comparable vehicles such as the Lexus RX300). And it gives great acceleration.
Interior comfort is also at...

Pros: Great in mountains and snow at 6,000-8,000 feet. Cons: Fan control is on flat panel screen The Bottom Line: Best midsize SUV currently available. Spacious, but doesn't drive or park big like larger SUVs. Great in snowy mountains or in the city.
This review is not intended to read like an article in Automobile or Car and Driver. We subscribe to both of those magazines, which rated the MDX very highly as did Motor Trend, who gave it the top rating for SUV's last year. Instead, my intention is...

Pros: 3rd row of seats, not overly large, good gas mileage, reasonable price Cons: Second-row seat belt comes out of ceiling, waiting lists, no negotiation The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car! It is worth every penny!
If you are looking for a small, luxury sport utility vehicle that seats 7, then this is the SUV for you!
The Acura MDX has a lot to offer! It is a small, luxury sport utility that seats 7 people comfortably. There are 4 levels of the MDX....

Pros: The Style is very futuristic and Aerodinamic. Cons: The lack of a low-range makes this S.U.V. a regular minivan. The Bottom Line: I recommend the MDX for familys with kids, tire of the usual minivan but want something not quite an SUV but a hybrid were compromises are best met.
The Acura MDX is a very versatyl SUV, the style is for some people a liked or hated. The Interior offers great comfort in a very technologycal way. The fact that is using the same platform from the Honda Oessys means that space is abundant. The...

Pros: Smooth, quiet handling, crisp braking, comfort, cargo capacity Cons: Wind noise with moon roof open on highway, hard to get into 3rd row seating The Bottom Line: Overall the MDX handles very well, much like a car. If you are looking to get a lot of value for your money, the MDX is well worth it!
Well I have to say that the MDX was worth every penny I spent on it. My wife and I just drove to Vermont for the weekend and it performed beautifully. We are both in love with this SUV.
There are very few things we dont like about the MDX so...

Pros: Good handling, smooth ride, luxury seats, nice SUV to drive. Cons: Fake wood(doesn't matter to me). The Bottom Line: Well, if you're lookin' or a SUV that's isn't huge, isn't expensive, and IS great, then this is the car for you.
So, you are looking or a SUV to buy. After hard decisions, you have two SUV's left. The 2001 Acura MDX, and the 2001 BMW X5. Finally, you go for the MDX; cheaper, has almost all that the X5 has, looks great, is one of the "luxurious" SUV's.
