Pros: This 2001 Chev pick-up seemed like a real peach when purchased. Cons: This 2001 Chev pick-up turned out to be a major LEMON. Of the worst type.
Summary: I leased a new 01 4 wheel drive Silverado ext cab, short box with Z51 suspension and heavy duty trailering package. This truck was great for the first 20,000kms or so - great handling and power. However up until 80,000 kms ( approx 50,000 miles) the ... read more

Pros: A strong motor, and pretty fast Cons: weak springs, and weak frame
Summary: I have driven them, but I am not impressed enough to own one. They are decent trucks, and they are better built than Ford, and with out a doubt better built than Dodge. They also seem to last longer than the old Chevys as far as the motor is concerned, ... read more

Pros: Safer, roomier and lots of options. Cons: Mediocre gas mileage, give up some options to make it affordable.
Summary: Before I bought the 2001 Chevy Silverado (1500 extended cab, 5300/5.3 litre Vortec V8, shortbed), I'd only driven a truck once or twice. They all felt big and clunky and made me feel separated from the ground. Now, I know that this truck was the best ... read more
