Pros: Silky ride, AWD and a 220 bhp powerplant for starters. Fit and finish unparalled. Cons: Short supply for the A6 Avant wagon; you'll have to wait! The Bottom Line: If you want to become an Audi fanatic, all you have to do is drive this vehicle. A true sports car (er, station wagon) in sheep's clothing
Right! So it's time to replace the venerated '96 Volvo 850 GLT wagon/box after 76K miles, what to do? The new Volvos have fallen from grace and they want $55K for the M-B with AWD. BMW's wagon is more of a sport offering and cost almost as much as the...

Audi A6 sedan 2002
Ambition, Ambiente or Advanced?
You do not have to own a Rolls Royce or a Bentley to be able to personalize the interior of a car. It can be done with the Audi A6. Audi calls this selecting the atmosphere for the...

Pros: comfortable interior, quick accelleration, great look Cons: gas mileage on city streets is not great The Bottom Line: Less than a BMW 540 and Mercedes E class, for about the same quality.
Summary:
I am extremely satisfied with this automobile & this is coming from a tough critic.
Overall if you like to drive cars, I believe this is the best all around luxury car on the market.
I was very worried about the power this car...

Pros: Handling, interior, wonderful ride, sure footing Cons: Electrical glitches The Bottom Line: If you can afford it, buy it - there is nothing better at this price in the market.
I've had Neiman-Marcus taste on a Walmart budget for most of my adult driving life. Most of the cars I've owned have been forgettable at best. When we finally had a chance to get into a better class of car, we spent a lot of time doing research between ...

Pros: The only station wagon that has both class and space; power and stability. Cons: none. The Bottom Line: Can't believe I would now recommend a station wagon to others but it is amazing! This car is a dream to drive with its power and yet smooth easy handling.
This new car offers so much to the person who wants it all, a fast sports car with good handling, a family sized seating and cargo area as well as luxury care. The heated front seats are amazing and the fact that they added the rear seat heaters is over...

Pros: 5 valves per cylinder, quattro, tiptronic/sport shifting, Vtec, etc., etc. Cons: 4th and 5th gear with light
throttle. The Bottom Line: Buy one...you won't be disappointed. With these models Audi is going to leap frog over Mercedes!
As a former race driver I try to stay with cars that have
reasonably good handling and acceleration. This Audi A6 Avant comes close to being perfect, at least in the "wagon"
category. My only complaint is that the gear selection seems to not...

Pros: Everything except the transmission Cons: Transmission not smooth The Bottom Line: Except for the transmission problem i love the car.
After 20 years in another European car i switched to the a6. Back to the service department 3 times in the first two weeks to fix a faulty sensor, not such a big deal. Unfortunately the transmission/gearing system stinks. On slow/moderate acceleration...

Pros: Faster than the previous model, handles better Cons: Continuous engine problems, Audi will not stand behind their repairs The Bottom Line: Too many service problems on this and my previous Audi. Not enough trained technicians or parts in stock.
From the moment after I took delivery of my 2002 A6 Quattro I have had engine problems. First at 25 miles they told me the fuel lines were clogged (on a new car?) then the engine started shaking at 1,200 miles I was told they had to replace all of the...

Pros: It is a beautiful car and rides nicely, when its working and not in shop. Cons: Almost everything! The Bottom Line: Im not sure I would recommend this year of Audi without a CERITIFED AUDI WARRANTY included and a LOCAL AUDI SERVICE DEALER.
Well, I bought my USED car in November 2005 and an hour after I drove off the lot the OIL PRESSURE light went on and stayed on due to not being able to find out what was triggering it for 3 months, 4 tow-in to the Audi Dealer and various hour long trips ...

5 years strong

Recommended: Yes
Pros: Power to performance, reliability, solid manufacturing, great engineering, Quattro Cons: cruise control placement, wipers are slow at high speed (bad in downpouring rain)
I have had my A6 for 5 years. I had a '99 A6 on lease previously and I liked it so much, I bought a 2002 A6 2.7T. After 5 years, I am still very happy with my A6. For a premium vehicle, I looked at the Mercedes 320, BMW 5-Series, and the Volvo S80 at the time. I was impressed the Audi was breaking strongly into the market and they offered the best price/performance ratio at the time.
My initial decision criteria 5 yrs. ago:
Luxury performance sedan
250 Hp or more
sporty
Quattro - amazing in rain/snow
$10K cheaper than closest competitor
Current stats:
17/21 MPG
280-290 miles/tank
$1500 at 70K was my first major cash repair for tires/brakes/rotors other than tires, wipers and oil changes.
