Pros: power, seat comfort, smooth ride, sportside looks, availability on lots Cons: balky transmission, build quality concerns, cheap tires, pricey
This is our 2nd Chevrolet Truck purchase in the last year or so. We previously had a 2001 Tahoe that we sold because my wife disliked its floaty ride and it was hard to park in the garage where she worked due to its height. After a stint in a nice...

Pros: Very stylish, good all around truck Cons: Not as much power as I would like
I purchased a 2002 Chevy Silverado Regular Cab in 2001 and took advantage of 0% financing. This was my first truck purchase. I debated over the Ford F150 and the Silverado and settled on the Silverado as I liked the body style better. This truck is...

Chevy Lover is Still Happy
by kw83028 ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: Styling, 4.3L Engine, Manual Tranny, Gas Milage Cons: Tire Wear, Rear Disc Brakes, Seats are a Little Uncomfortable on Long Trips
I have been driving my '02 Silverado since brand new. I am overall very happy with the truck. I have the 4.3L V6 manual transmission. The engine and tranny and clutch have held up perfectly with 53,000 miles. When I first got the truck, I was getting 23mpg, now after 53000, I'm getting 20mpg. Problems that I have had are: Tires lasted 28000 miles before steel belts showed through (very normal highway conditions), and the rear disc brakes are horrible. I have replaced them twice now and I'm not brake happy. I've read a lot of message boards that have said the same thing. Overall, though, I am very happy with the truck.

A work truck
by wpnsgy ,Oct 18 '04
Pros: dependable, good power,Looks good Cons: Has not given the gas mileage expected from a V6 Paint is thin easily scratched
Truck is great looking comfort of the front seat is fair. V6 engine delivers adequate power. But does not deliver the fuel mileage I was hoping for when I opted for the 6 cylinder.Paint is extremely prone to scratching the lightest of a rub will produce a scratch paint appears to be extremely thin. Serpentine belt squeaks in damp weather Dealer has replaced everything but the belt still squeaks. Overall this has been a good truck used most every day.
