Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth handling, roomy, aesthetically pleasing! A TRUE SUV!
Cons: Doesn't handle well in gusty wind.
The Bottom Line: There is not a better SUV for the money...ANYWHERE! This is tops!

The Chevy Tahoe is an authentic SUV, not a wannabe. I knew I wanted a Chevy Tahoe as soon as Chevrolet redesigned them in 2000. The lighter, trimmer, less-boxy appearance really sold me on it. I purchased a used 2002 Chevy Tahoe LT ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth ride, fabulous seats, cargo capacity, luxury amenities, powerful engine, standard tow hitch.
Cons: Gas mileage, rolls in turns at speed, radio/dash controls hard to reach from passenger side.
The Bottom Line: Great truck! It handles nicely and is very comfortable. The 4 wheel drive is great. Enormous amounts of cargo space. I highly recommend the Tahoe.

I bought the 2002 Tahoe in July of 2002 and rate it an 8 out of 10 so far. Currently at 19,300 miles. A great looking truck. Amenities are excellent. Fit and finish is good. Handling is good for this heavy truck - it doesn't feel heavy when driving ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Solid SUV, Comfortable Interior, Great Value, 3rd Row Seating
Cons: Little Storage room when using 3rd row seating
The Bottom Line: If you have 30-35k to spend and your looking for an SUV with lots of space for people and stuff, get the TAHOE. Great value for an all around SUV.

White LT Tahoe.

Starting a family of my own, we need a utility vehicle to safely drive around our family. We also needed a vehicle that can transport items from the local Home Depot or Lowes easily during our "neverending" home improvement...

Pros: Sturdy, lots of cargo space, good mileage
Cons: None in my eyes!
The Bottom Line: Good reliable truck!

I had purchased a Chevy Tahoe new in 2002 once I found out I was pregnant with my son. At the time I had a 2-door Ford Explorer Sport. We had decided that 2 doors wasn't going to work with the baby car seat. So we upgraded to the Tahoe. I LOVED my ...

The Bottom Line: It is Like A Rock, and offers all the comfort without a wimpy look.

Let me guess, you are shopping for a SUV like my father was? And you are looking at the Tahoe among others including its sister the Yukon Denali - am I correct?

Well here are the pluses:
The Tahoe is not a wimpy, looking, SUV like the...

Much improvement from old body style

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Stylish, power, maneuverability
Cons: Z71 package limited on options
The Bottom Line: More room, smoother ride, and cornering abilities make the Chevy Tahoe Z71 worth the money.

Chevy has reached the top once again. The 2002 Z71 Tahoe is in a class of its own. The SUV of all SUVs, the Chevy Tahoe gives you the room of an SUV, but handles like a sedan. The cornering abilities on the new Tahoe has been greatly improved since...

Pros: Smooth Ride, Lots of electronic devices
Cons: very pricey
The Bottom Line: This car is perfect for anyone who needs space and needs to take multiple people around.

This car was a christmas present, and so far it is absolutely fabulous! So far I absolutely love it! It sits very high (higher than a Suburban) and I feel very powerful in it. It also drives surprisingly smooth for an SUV.

This car has lived...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The 2002 Chevy Tahoe is a driving delight. Comfortable interior, smooth ride.
Cons: None so far!
The Bottom Line: All around comfort, storage and seating space, quiet and smooth ride - I don't think it gets better than this car in this class for this price!

This great vehicle made an 8 hour highway drive, for a single person, a relative breeze. Minimal outside noise, smooth handling, an easy cruise speed of 70 mph and the superior ride of the Autoride suspension combined to provide a stress-reduced...

Pros: Power
Cons: It's a domestic. what more can i say?
The Bottom Line: A great SUV. Minor problems, but nothing major. Would recomend it to my friends.

The 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe is a great SUV. The Tahoe is huge and powerful. It is so roomy inside. One of the most confortable SUV's I've ever rode in. It does have a big engine so it eats gas like a fat woman in a all u can eat restuarant. I've had...

Cons: FILL UPS COST ABOUT $60.00 AND THAT ONLY GOES ABOUT 230 MILES.
The Bottom Line: It is a roomy, comfortable and nice looking car.

I just purchased a 2002 Tahoe. I love my truck. I have it lowered with 22" chrome rims. The ride is so smooth. It turns heads everywhere I go. It seats 8 people. I have televisions in the headrests to entertain my 10 year old son. Yes, the gas is ...

Reliable and Dependable

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Rides smoothly and spacious
Cons: Guzzles gas
I love our 2002 Tahoe. We purchased this new in Nov 2001 and have enjoyed it since. We did not get the optional 3rd row seat which I am regretting now. The interior is easily cleaned and stains are easily removed. There is plenty of space in the front seat, back seat, and trunk area. The customer service at the dealership is fabulous. We have only had 1 minor recall and our emergency break cord ? did break (snapped in 2 when putting the emergency break on), but it was easily fixed for free.

Great for kids!!!
by bugnmahoney

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: leather, handling, heat, a/c -work fast, on-star
Cons: the weathering around the door has torn easily.
Ok, so I'm not a car expert, but I am a mom. I have two small children who are extremely active. The leather seats are the only way to go! Very durable...cleanable...even when those winding roads get the best of kids. Very smooth drive, heater/a/c work great and fast. Chevrolet dealers provide great customer service...even provided me with an upgraded rental car free of charge, just for routine maintenance. Back cargo area fits two strollers, groceries, and much more (all at same time). I feel very safe, not top heavy. Handles good even in windy conditions. I highly recommend.

2002 Tahoe Transmission Replacement`
by twomuch
Mar 30 '05
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No
Pros: Great ride, room for 8
Cons: Expensive repairs for such a new vehicle.
We purchased our 2002 2Wheel Drive Tahoe 2 years ago. We have been satisfied until yesterday when the engine made a loud pop while we were driving. It was towed to the Chevy Dealership and we were told that the transmission needed to be replaced. We now have a 2002 Tahoe with 43,000 miles and the fear that something else may go wrong. We were just out of our warranty and 7,000 miles ago we had a complete tune up.
