Pros: Comfortable, spacious, well-equipped cab Cons: Short bed length, high price The Bottom Line: Great option for someone looking for a new kind of general family car to replace the SUV. Short bed makes it a poor work truck.
I'm in the market for a new car and have been test driving lots of vehicles lately. When one is a serious candidate, I also look around for one I can rent for a couple days to take on a business or family trip to get a better feel for how it works for me...

Pros: Perfect blend of sedan and truck; roomy, great ride, clean look; rear power outlets Cons: Thirsty as any truck, bed could be a bit longer; possible excessive brake wear The Bottom Line: An excellent choice all-around. No need to give up the family car for this family-friendly, work-ready truck. Worth considering even if a truck isn't automatically a requirement.
So you want or need that pickup truck, but your sedan has been faithful, and you hate to part with the space for 4+ people. My friends, step right up to the 2002 Supercrew. I was driving and was quite pleased with my 2001 Nissan Altima. And I am a ...

Pros: Haul cargo and crew, healthy torque, nimble for its size, great value, available accessories Cons: Stiff ride The Bottom Line: This truck is effective as people mover, periodic stuff hauler, and a tow vehicle, all while being a great value.
Update: 32K of Experience My wife took the truck in for it's scheduled 30K service about a month ago, and I thought it's an appropriate time to update this review for folks shopping for used versions of this vehicle. Before the service I ...

Pros: Towing capacity, roominess, fairly quiet Cons: Mileage (of course); aux power outlet not switched; narrow bucket seats The Bottom Line: If you need a true heavy-duty light truck that can carry four in comfort, this is the one, at least until the Toyota Tundra 4-door comes out.
I needed a vehicle that could handle a very high (600+ pounds) tongue weight on its hitch and that could seat four people very comfortably.
After weeks of research, I determined that only the Silverado or the SuperCrew (or the as-yet...

Pros: Room and comfort for the family, good performance. Cons: Cargo space limited, gas mileage The Bottom Line: Great rig for the family that occasionally needs to haul stuff. Who doesn't?
Sometimes I wonder why it took auto manufacturers so long to figure out that there was a great market for pickup trucks that can double as a family car. The Ford F-150 Supercrew is certainly that. The 4X4 model is both a heavy-duty pickup and a family...

Pros: Surprising maneuverability and ride comfort for a 4x4. Great interior room. Quiet ride! Cons: 5'6" long bed not conducive for work truck. The Bottom Line: Excellent truck with clean styling and sporty look. Rides quietly and is sure footed both on and off the highway.
The truck I purchased and am reviewing is a 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew with the "FX4 Offroad" package new for 2002.
I love this truck! If you think about it; when was the last time you were able to pull over at a garage sale with you and three...

Pros: Interior room, quiet ride, good performance Cons: Small bed, fuel economy in city driving The Bottom Line: Superb versatility, excellent road manners, very comfortable. Drives like a car, hauls the goods like a truck.
Update Number 2... 70,000 miles, and this thing has NO idea where the shop is! Virtually trouble free, still quiet and nice to drive. The sorry original tires wore out, and I replaced them with a nice set of Michelins, and it's even quieter now. Gas ...

Pros: Space, Comfort for up to 6, Style Cons: Fuel mileage, (but it is a 4x4 truck) The Bottom Line: Check out the competition, I think you will see why Ford remains on top year after year.
After comparing the competition, and the little brother Sportrac, We decided on the Supercrew XLT 4x4. While shopping we were surprised to find that the sportrac was only a few hundred dollars less and offered far less
Use-ability: I was skeptical...

Pros: Excellent Ride, Large Interior Compartment, If you have or want kids, this one's for you. Cons: GAS MILEAGE, but, it's a 4x4 full size truck, so you get what you expect. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended, great ride, lots of interior room, solid truck, great alternative for parents to the minivan-SUV-station wagon dilema they face if they have more than two kids.
I can't say enough how much I love this truck! I shopped around for months looking for the right truck for me and my family, that's right my family. There aren't too many trucks that you can buy that effectively let you put your family in the equation....

Pros: Nice Style, Excellent Performance Cons: Sliding back window should've been power window, cd changer awkward spot The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this truck and it is reasonably priced.
I purchased the King Ranch in 2002. I got an excellent deal and went with Ford because of prior experience with F150's. My wife loved the leather interior and moonroof, whereas I was just looking at the 5.4 V8 Triton engine and towing capabilities. I ...

Pros: The truck looked nice. It rode nice and was spacious Cons: Ford does not stand behind their product. Major problems at 56,732 miles The Bottom Line: Ford will not stand behind their product. Buy a Toyota and have no headaches.
The truck is 6 years old and still looks good. I bought this truck because I could find nothing bad about it. I researched it and even looked on epinions. The spark plug blew out of the head at 56,732 miles. I contacted my local dealer and they stated it ...

SCrew is Awsome

Pros: styling, room for 6 adults, good 2wd ground clearance Cons: no "captain" over-ride of cabin lights, door light switches prone to problems
We purchased a 2-wheel drive 2002 SCrew with 10,000 miles in spring 2004 for less than loan value :).
We had wrecked our Grand Caravan and were looking to replace it. We were in somewhat of a crisis as our other car is a Miata. It's hard to take 3 kids anywhere in a 2-seat car.
Anyway, the Lord really blessed us when I found this truck in the local paper. I was in negotiations with a dealer on a 2004 SCrew. Honestly, I hate the styling of the "new" Ford trucks but have always liked the '96-03 body style, especially the SCrew.
Anyway, after owning this truck 8 months and 13,000+ miles, I am still very happy.
As mentioned in the "cons" section, I am unhappy with the interior lights. The switches in the door get stuck and do not recognize that the door is closed. With no "captian" over-ride like the Caravan had, it is impossible to turn the lights off if the door switch sticks. It is almost impossible to drive at night this way.
Otherwise I'm happy with it.

Pros: Comfortable, stylish, can tow 5k lbs. trailer with little hardships. Cons: Gas mileage, Single battery (Lots of Lights), Transmission could be smoother.
I totally agree with cdekantar. The truck has a very comfortable ride. Mine, the Lariat package with captain's chairs, really excels in this category. The brakes do have premature wear and the gas mileage sucks. Other than that this truck is a beautiful workhorse and I am a happy owner.

Trany Craps out at 65000?!?

Pros: Comfortable ride-nice to be up so high Cons: Blown trany at 65000 miles!
Truck itself is good. The family all fits as long as we don't bring the dog- lack of cargo room a problem with inclement weather...
BUT-- who heard of an engines transmission blowing at 65000 miles? This truck is too spendy for something so pricey to happen. And of course the warranty ended at 60,000 miles.
Looks like I am getting a wagon next!
