Pros: Interior, Price, Options, Overall build quality. Cons: Engine could be a tad more aggressive in non turbocharged trim lines. The Bottom Line: The 2003 PT Cruiser offers excellent bang for the non go-fast automotive consumer's buck.
It seems like yesterday when the 2001 PT Cruiser first hit the streets. While once being one of the most exclusive cars on the road (much like the reinvented VW Beetle in '98) the PT Cruiser is now sort of a 'get lost is traffic cruiser.' Hundreds of...

Pros: Relatively cheap, exceptionally versatile, fun to look at. Cons: Middling gas mileage, slightly underpowered, a Chuck Mobile, not a Chick Mobile. The Bottom Line: I recommend this car for those who want to mix a little fun into their practicality. I bought it for that reason myself. 90,000 miles and no rattles or squeaks.
By now it should surprise no one that this auto is no longer considered quirky, though it is still considered ultra retro. With its good looking (IMHO)pseudo Panel Truck aura comes a well-fitted set of body panels. The exceptionally close tolerances are ...

Pros: Comfortable heated seats, lots of power, solid and durable Cons: Poor gas mileage, hard to steer The Bottom Line: A cute, roomy, powerful car that is fun to drive on the highway. Poor gas mileage and tight steering make it less than desirable for city driving
When our underpowered Infiniti GT20 died a premature death, we decided that our top priorities in a car were sufficient power and durability. Post 9/11, we also wanted to buy an American car. I adored the look of the PT Cruiser. It met all of our ...

Pros: Styling (exterior), functionality Cons: gas mileage, no noticeable improvements over previous years, fender bashing vulnerability The Bottom Line: A highly practical and stylish wagon, the PT Cruiser is fun but unrefined. Wake up Chrysler before someone else comes out with the next retro thing.
The PT Cruiser has been on my shortlist of cars to replace my BMW 3-series lease but a recent drive in a 2003 PT Cruiser shows that there are some rough edges that Chrysler should address. Overall The PT Cruiser is a 4-door wagon, retro-styled ...

Pros: Interior versatility, fun to drive quotient, ease of entry/exit, tons of after-market baubles and bolt-ons. Cons: Mileage, turn radius, some interior quirks. The Bottom Line: I got a lot more flexibility than I would have gotten with a sedan, and a lot more fun that I would have gotten with a van/SUV.
I have just exceeded 1500 miles on my 2003 PT/GT Turbo, and I am able to share these observations: Why did I buy - I have a history of back problems, and I need to use my personal vehicle at work. I do a lot of city driving and I need to load/unload ...

Pros: Solid construction, unmatched utility, aggressive engine (GT) Cons: Terrible gas mileage, poor switch placement, weird options, large turning radius The Bottom Line: Great value for a small, flexible, powerful car. The 2003 GT has the utility of an SUV, with (most) of the handling of a compact car.
I had been in the market for a new car for the past year or so. The PT Cruiser had really appealed to me, mostly because it excelled in almost all the aspects which I desired in a vehicle: utility, size, cost, handling, efficiency, and appearance....

Pros: Excellent vehicle overall. Cons: Turbo does reduce gas mileage.
This is a vehicle that is surprisingly fun to drive. It is great on the highway and handles extremely well at high speeds. The fold down, flip forward seats make this an extremely roomy vehicle for carrying large items. I bought a new television and because of the configuration of the seats I brought it home in the PT when it wouldn't fit in my minivan! I love the easy access from the back hatch too. With the turbo charge the car has a lot of get up and go. You will never be left behind if you're in one of these!

Pros: Removable seats and a host of options for under 25,000. Animal friendly. Cons: Body roll. It's a Chrysler, noisy fan belt.
I recently bought a used 2003 PT Cruiser GT with the Woody option. The previous owner purchased the car and paid a premium to have the wood added. This car has every option available in 2003. It rides great, comfortable and fairly quiet for an inexpensive car. I can fit a large dog cage in the back. Our Old English Sheepdog now travels with my wife and I. The dog dislikes traveling in my wife's Mustang or my last car, which was an Acura RSX Type S.

Pros: Great looking car, fun to drive, good for hauling miscellaneous stuff. Cons: Many minor problems, poor parts support by Chrysler.
We bought our '03 PT Cruiser, GT model, mainly because we liked its looks so well. I had my doubts about its quality, but I wanted to make Mama happy.
The warranty ran out about month ago, and I traded it in yesterday because of all the problems I had with it. None of them were really big problems, but the future did not look good, and that car had already developed two problems not covered by the power train warranty and that probably would have been expensive to fix. Also, it was already using oil after only 37K miles. I was careful to keep the oil changes current and to use high quality oil. Worst new car I have ever owned.

Pros: looks good, fun to drive, good solid quality, practical and fuel efficient Cons: not much punch and low sex appeal!
The PT cruiser is exactly what it sets out to be. I've leased one for almost 4 years and I've found it to be practical, attractive, and fun to drive. I only have two complaints (both of which I knew going in). First, it's not super powerful mine's a stick and that helps but it trades pretty good fuel economy for modest punch. Second, it is NOT a car that commands street cred! You have to be a confident male to drive on of these. Aside from that, I'm surprise by how much I love it.

TOON CAR for adults

Pros: Room Style Price Cons: Mileage Dash controls
My friend calls it the 'TOON CAR'.I suppose I can see why he says that. ButI is see that as a testimony to the fact that it does not look like just another Honda or Ford. I love the retro/hot-rod/look of my candy apple red Cruiser!!! It can carry 5 people like a car, and if you take out the seats you can move a washer or dryer! try that in your Camry or Accord. I bought my 2003 Limited Edition 6 months ago and have had not one problem with it. Now for the good part... I moved to Canyon Lake,CA 2 months ago. So I decided to buy a new 17.5ft Glastron boat. It comes in at about 2300lbs. I have no problem launching it at the lake, and it looks also looks great doing it:) The main draw back is the gas mileage and the power is a little shy, but then again with the 5 speed thats not a big issue. A overall home run for Chrysler!!!

Pros: Lots of storage. Nice look Cons: Poor engine quality.
I loved the look of my cruiser. Cranberry finish. The only flaw is in the design. with the low front end, expect plenty of nicks in your windshield and on your hood.
There is a flaw in the crankshaft that will cause your engine to fail prematurely. At only three years old, I am spending $5000 to make my cruiser driveable. Chrysler admits that it is a problem but will not issue a recall until 10% of their customers complain.

Pros: too many to list! Cons: brake dust on wheels
I traded in a 97' Ford Mustang stick shift for my PT. Surgery required I have an automatic, and something much easier on my back to get in and out of.
Although I'm in my late 40's, I've always been known around our little town to have a hot car. I didn't want to change that now!
My 2003 Electric Blue Pearl hit the mark just perfectly. With just a few easy mods, I once again have a car everyone takes a second look at, and it is so very easy to get in and out of, drive, keep clean, etc. Even my hubby - a Dodge Ram one ton dually man - loves to drive and ride in it. Now THAT is something!
The only thing I found that was necessary to buy was the plastic wheel covers that prevent brake dust from ruining your wheels. Why aren't they on ALL cars/trucks standard?

Love the functionality of the car. Love the look. HATE the fact that I am not even at 36,000 miles yet and I have a lifter rattling. Pros: Fun to drive, fast, easy to park, nice factory sound system, good layout Cons: Front seat adjustment is awkward, not enough interior lighting, premium fuel required.
We've had our 2003 Turbo GT with the 5-speed transmission since March 2004. It was the last new '03 GT on the lot, and had only 250 miles. Since then, we've put over 16K on it (10 months) and it has been 98% trouble-free. The Freon leaked out right after we got the car, so we didn't notice until the first warm day, when we needed the a/c, it wasn't functioning. Also, there was a mechanic's footprint on the intake runner, so someone at the dealership actually stood in the engine compartment, for some reason. The car drives beautifully! The a/c will freeze you out, the heater warms the interior quickly and evenly, and the power accessories have all functioned as they should. Fit and finish has been very good, overall. My car has a very solid feel to it. We get about 22 mpg overall average, with 27 our best highway mileage. The car performed flawlessly during a summertime trip that was over 1,400 miles, with two adults, two pre-teens and a Chihuahua. I would recommend the PT Cruiser GT Turbo to anyone looking for a small, quick performance sedan that can haul cargo, to boot.

Pros: ROOMY did I mention ROOMY! and I like the body style. Cons: only one is you can't drive 2 miles without seeing one.
I have had my car a couple years and it's a great car. The thing I like most about it is the room it has and that the seats can be folded down (even passanger) or removed (back)
My daughter got a computer tower for christmas and I had to carry it home almost fully assembled in my car. Not many cars can you do that with. I also bought a huge outdoor grill and outdoor fireplace at the same time and they BOTH fit in the car. Plus I carried home an 18' (in box) swimming pool in this car. So as far as room it's got plenty. I haven't really had any issues with it although I know there were some recalls done this year.
