My Experience I test-drove a 2003 Honda Civic LX 5-speed sedan at a local dealership. My test drive lasted about half and hour and covered city streets, winding secondary roads, and the freeway. Performance There aren't many ...

2003 Honda Civic--Good things come in small packages.

by utonel , Feb 27 '03
Pros: Fuel economy, reliability, and relative quality.
Cons: Not a car for anyone taller than 5'10" or a new driver.
While test driving several compact and sub-compact models (Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima), I took the 2003 Civic out for a spin.

Although small, the civic packs a lot into a little package. The EX I test drove had most the...

Good little car for the city

by vipet , Apr 12 '03
Pros: new blue-lighted dash, VTEC, handling, roomy for a subcompact, excellent gas mileage, 10K oil change
Cons: expensive side of compacts, road noise, poor standard stereo, target for theives
Before buying the Honda Civic I had test drove quite a number of cars above and below the Civic's price range. The requirements? - 1) 4 Door (as the wife would say 2 doors are hard for child seats) 2) Automatic 3) Safe 4) Great commuter car - Now mind...

Quality at a low price

by delrinkenro , Oct 29 '03
Pros: Quality Construction, Comfortable, Fuel Consumption, Look, interior space and design.
Cons: Performance (auto), Bumper paint scratching(in silver), bit pricey, remote doesn't open trunk.
Buying: I replaced my 1996 VW Jetta with the Sport LX version of the 2003 Civic 4 door(Canada). The buying experience was not a great one, as cars seem to have become a commodity sale these days. We visited various Honda dealers in the area with varying ...

Still the "Standard" in Small Sedans

by hamsinn , May 22 '03
Pros: Honda reliability, new for 2003 refined interior, good gas mileage
Cons: engine noise noticeable in the city
After my old, old Accord finally succumbed to its 180,000 miles I set out to buy my first new car. I was looking for a reasonably-priced, reliable, fuel-efficient 4-door sedan. As an outdoorsmen, I took a good hard look at Subaru. The sexy Outback...

I purchased the Honda Civic LX SSRS 4 door, 5 spd new in Jan. 2003 looking for an economical car that could haul 2 small children as well as handle commuting & my night job as a deliveryman... Shifting & clutch very smooth. Smoothest I've seen in any ...

Honda quality, top of its class, a bit pricey

by ubergrendle , May 26 '03
Pros: Fuel economy, cabin room, quality of finishings, blue lighted dashboard
Cons: target for thieves, no rear-trunk remote open, high price for compact sedan
There's only 2 knocks against this car in my mind -- its a target for thieves, and its expensive for its class. Given how many of these cars are on the road, and how popular these are in the resale market, the theft is not a fault of Honda. The LX model...

Honda 2003 EX - Why I'll dry hump the "H" symbol.

by Grindinghalt , Apr 01 '03
Pros: It's a Honda, Gas Mil., Looks Nice, Keyless Entry
Cons: Not a sports car?
At the end of March 2003, I purchased a brand new car for the first time in my life. I started off which crappy hand me down American made cars when I was younger and finally ended up trading my old 1990 Accord EX for a few bucks off the new 2003 4DR...

Serious Engineering Flaw with Dashboard Lights On at All Times

by goody2 , May 26 '03
Pros: Awesome car that retains it value.
Cons: No Headlights ON/OFF Indicator
The Honda Civic is an awesome car that retains its value.

The 2003 Honda Civic does have one serious safety engineering flaw that you must be aware of.

My daughter just got a 2003 Honda Civic. One serious engineering flaw in the...
