  • Better late than never, or is it?

    Dec 02 '02
Pros: Price, Fuel economy, Ride quality.
Cons: Interior quality, Options can get very pricey, Acceleration.

Summary: Extremely late in the scene, Mitsubishi has decided to join the band wagon of crossover vehicles/wagons on the market with their very own version titled 'Outlander.' With a base price just a hair under 18 grand, this puts the Outlander's starting ... read more

Pros: Low end grunt Suspension setup few thoughtful mods extract big payoff sleeper car
Cons: brakes freeway passing power low better seating position for taller drivers

Summary: This review is for the '03 Front Wheel Drive, with no additional options. I am not interested in economy, creature comforts, etc. I am just curious if this car can take my abuse? (of course its my wife's car so I DO have to respect some form of ... read more

  • I love mine!

    Mar 20 '04
Pros: Comfortable, stylish, sporty, conservative, good amenities like rear cup holders, good performance and safety.
Cons: Horsepower, maybe better brakes (ABS), tires don't hold air well, catches the wind a little.

Summary: I love mine! I would buy it again - or maybe I'll just do what it takes to keep it as long as possible (i.e.:new engine when it needs one when the mileage is really high, etc). I have had mine for 9.5 months and have over 16K miles on it - and I am ... read more

Pros: Price, options, style, and 7 year 100000 mile warranty.
Cons: 4 cylinder, and recirculation setting. Get one anyway!

Summary: I've owned this SUV for 3 months. I read all the reviews that I could find, which wasn't many, and decided to try it. I compared it to the Mazda, Ford, and Honda. For the price and features, I couldn't pass it up. Most reviews you see will mention the ... read more

  • Not very impressed

    Jun 11 '03
Pros: Fairly attractive interior, good ride characteristics, seems pretty reliable
Cons: interior feels "hollow," guzzles gas for a 4-banger, expensive for what you get.

  • The engine alone is a good enough reason to buy something else

    May 29 '03
Pros: Nothing outstanding. Decent styling, handling, and interior.
Cons: Engine very weak, less room than some others.

Summary: There are fewer and fewer downright uncompetitive vehicles. However, the Mitsubishi Outlander is one of them. Even though Mitsubishi is very late to the compact SUV fray, it failed to learn from the competition. For some time now Mitsubishi has sold ... read more

  • Room to stretch, a little under powered, but gets the job done!

    Mar 03 '05
Pros: Small, Fun, Factory roof rails, head room, & dependable.
Cons: Power, & limited width for loading in rear because of taillights.

Summary: I have owned my 2003 Outlander LS AWD for a year now and will say that hands down it is the best car (SUV) I have ever had. (1982 Dodge Colt, 1993 Pontiac Grand Am SE, & a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ) Ok so I haven’t had that many cars, but I still stand
