  • A most unique, smokin' SUV. But is it fully cooked?

    May 15 '03
Pros: Exterior styling, acceleration, handling, seat comfort
Cons: Interior styling and materials, overly variable steering effort, minivan-like view forward, price

Summary: A few years back BMW introduced the X5, the first SUV with handling that could be likened to that of a sport sedan with a straight face. For 2003 Nissan has introduced the Al tima-based Murano, the first somewhat ... read more

  • Love every moment driving it

    Jun 06 '03
Pros: CVT, styling, quietness, handling, BOSE audio, interior fit and finish, interior materials
Cons: Windshield washer nozzles too low, sunroof leaks a bit on high pressure washing

Summary: It all boils down to the CVT. I had an offer from Nissan to come and test drive the Murano for a gift certificate. I did and I bought it on the spot. I liked very much the styling in and out but wasn't convinced by an automatic. I use to drive only ... read more

  • MIXED OPINION

    May 21 '03
    Pros: CVT transmission
Cons: Rear view compromised; LESS USABLE cargo space

Summary: I've owned this Murano for two months now, and I've gotten over the initial excitement and have some sobering reflections on this vehicle. In no particular order, here's some things that disappoint me: 1. GAS MILEAGE is not what I ... read more

  • Great Vehicle

    May 03 '03
Pros: Handling, Passenger Room, Driver Adjustability, Price
Cons: ? MPG, ? ability to change light bulbs on your own

Summary: POSITIVES The primary strength of this vehicle is its handling ability. Much like the Lexus RX300, the Murano handles entirely like a car but with the added benefits of an SUV (i.e. AWD, height, cargo room). The ride is not too jarry (I'm sure it ... read more

  • It's Getting Better Every Day

    Apr 02 '03
Pros: Smooth Ride, Unique Styling, Features for Price
Cons: MPG only 18.5 hwy, no running lights

Summary: I purchased my Murano in January, 2003 and have been waiting to submit my review until I broke it in. It took a little while to get used to the transmission, but now I don't even notice the difference - this thing is ZIPPY! I drive over 100 ... read more

  • I LOVE THIS THING!!! Update - STILL!!!

    Apr 01 '03
Pros: Beautiful vehicle that will turn heads! UPDATE 1/12/05 - STILL beautiful and still gets compliments
Cons: Gas mileage not as high as reported - only 19 MPG

Summary: Before purchasing my new Murano, we test drove the Highlander and CR-V. While both of those had features that were nice and lower sticker prices, the Murano was by far my favorite. It is so stylish. There is nothing out there on the road like it. ... read more

  • Buy one, buy one NOW!

    Mar 30 '03
Pros: Stunning good looks, great handling characteristics, great braking.
    Cons: No ashtray?

Summary: The Murano caught my eye on TV way back in November. Then I got to sit in one at the Cleveland Auto show. I was totally dumbfounded---finally a vehicle that was ultra modern inside and out. I was so tired of seeing the concept vehicles at the show that ... read more

  • Nissan Making Strong Comeback

    Feb 12 '03
Pros: CVT, Styling, Power, Price, Gas Mileage, Smooth and Comfortable
Cons: Completely new model, CVT not yet proven in SUVs, No deals offered on popular model

Summary: Murano a Pleasant Surprise Not long ago, Nissan was nearly bankrupt, 1.4 trillion Yen in debt, plagued with reliability problems, and not innovating in the least. With the arrival of Carlo Ghosn, the Japanese carmaker has made a ... read more
