Pros: Good air conditioning and interior panels. Good fuel economy and fun-to-drive tiptronic system. Cons: Noisy Engine,Little room for rear passengers
Yesterday I had the opportunity to test drive an Audi A4 at a nearby dealership. About an hour or two earlier,I got the chance to drive a Lexus IS300. Both cars had their advantages, but I felt that the Lexus had the more comfortable ride and a better ...

Pros: -Awesome looks
-Classy/comfortable interior
-Highly tunable engine
-Confident handling
-Good warranty
-Great on gas (1.8T) Cons: -Small cupholders
-Folding armrest not good for spirited driving
-Limited car loaners at dealer
I was in the market for a four door near-luxury vehicle and was considering the following: Audi A4 Quattro, Lexus IS300, and (2004.5) Volvo S40 T5. I thoroughly researched and test drove all three models. While the ultra-reliable Lexus is definitely a ...

Pros: Zippy ride, supportive seats, quality build, "She's purrdee" Cons: Major changes in 2006, cramped driver space, hidden/small cupholders, not enough bolster for my butt.
Introduction Being the consummate frugal stinge that I am, some find it hard to believe I'm now the proud owner of an Audi A4... but it's true. This week I upgraded from my Pontiac Vibe (which gave me ZERO problems in its entire life btw - ...

Pros: quality build, great looks, great comfort, great performance Cons: rear passenger space, 1.8T just a touch underpowered if you really want ooomph.
This car is assembled in Ingolstadt, Germany, by Germans. Well they may well be Armenians for all I know, but they have done a great job. I have always had a hankering for an A4. My wife had just bought a Toyota Tundra so it was okay for me to lose the ...

Pros: Interior quality and styling, quattro a.w.d., fuel economy, ride quality, handling Cons: Tight backseat, small trunk, engine can't quite handle extra weight of quattro, engine refinement
Where I live the Audi A4 is stereotyped as a “chick car,” as almost everyone who drives one is a female. No, it may not be as hard-core as a BMW 3-Series or an Infiniti G35, but after driving three different A4 models, I can confidently say that male ...

Pros: Solid feel, handling, styling, interior. Cons: Slightly pricey with options (premium and cold weather packages should be standard, IMHO)
The A4 is Audi's entry into the crowded entry-level luxury market, and as such it competes directly with the BMW 3 series, the Lexus 330is, and the Acura TSX. Two body styles (sedan and wagon), three engines (1.8L turbo 4, 3.0L V6, and 4.2L V8), four ...

Pros: Handling, Style, Design Cons: Loud engine, maintenance can be expensive, leather seats
Nice car. Sleek design. Economical gas mileage for a 4 cylinder. The Audi is great and provides for a fun driving experience. The driver and passenger definitely have the best seat in the vehicle. The rear passengers will be slightly cramped and in ...

Pros: Luxurious, Sporty, Quick, Responsive, All-wheel drive, Turbo, Sexy Cons: Should have went with an Audi 3 years ago.
Audi's 2004 A4 1.8T, my A4 1.8T, has been nothing but a joy to drive. I've had American cars in the past, and they sadly do pale in comparison to my audi. Right out of the showroom this piece of German Engineering impressed me. In fact, it only took a ...

Pros: Great Looking. Reasonably fast. Ample driver-side room. Impeccable interior. Cons: Should have a slightly faster engine. Jetta is available with faster engine than A4.
I took possession of my 2003 Avant 1.8T a week ago. It has 17k miles, and is fully warranted to 100k. Its got premium and cold-weather packages, and it's a 5-speed manual. So far, the car is entirely impressive. I have heard complaints here about ...

Pros: Luxurious, fast, great handling, quiet (no turbo noise!), all the trimmings. Cons: No in-dash MP3 player
I had been looking for something to replace my aging SUV, in part because I'd switched jobs and now had a much longer commute. This meant higher fuel costs and sometimes inclement weather that at freeway speeds an SUV didn't exactly handle well. ...

Pros: AWD, interior, brakes, headlights, value, styling Cons: stock power, drivetrain slop, options pricey.
Well - I researched, test drove, read every forum on the 'Net related to cars and finally got my A4 3 weeks ago. Killer Audi financing offer sealed the deal. 1.8TQM (1.8L turbo, quattro and manual in Audi-owner-speak). Premium, 17" wheels, xenons, ...

Pros: Great styling, superior suspension, drivetrain, and handling. Cons: Overall unreliability, hard to find parts, poor dealer support, fundamental mechanical flaws.
The Audi A4 is great in some ways. The styling is beautiful. The Quattro all-wheel drive is a superior system that provides excellent handling in all types of weather. The interior is well-appointed and logically laid out. It drives like a dream. ...

What Matters is What's Inside - The Thinking Person's 325
by ephlaxman ,Jun 15 '04
Pros: Ride, comfort, engineering and attention to detail. A/C excellent. Cons: Cramped back seats, dashboard is busy and distracting, although looks great at night.
Upgraded from Volkswagen. Body type/exterior not important. Wanted safety, handling, sporty yet comfortable ride. Got car fully loaded, leather, sports & winter package. From outside, looks pretty pedestrian, but inside you feel youre in a well-engineered luxury automobile. Engine is a little loud; acceleration is OK (better in sport mode), but ride is so smooth you find yourself going 85 on highway and feeling like youre doing 50 instead. Dashboard looks cool with all the red lights, but is busy and buttons are a little distracting. Back seats are cramped. Passenger seat should have same electronic adjustment capacity as driver. Huge trunk. Tires prone to blowouts (2 in 4 months!) Good gas mileage, all-wheel drive all the time was excellent during a snowy winter. Very safe feeling car, will keep it 3 years then trade up to an A4 3.0 or S4. Im glad I decided to get a fully decked out A4 rather than a BMW or Benz w/o the extras. To me, those cars are for people who desire status over performance and luxury.

I have to agree

Pros: Comfort, quality, fit and finish Cons: cup holders
We took this car on a 24 hour Audi test drive and we were just blown away. Not so much with the incredible power but by the comfort, I've never been in a more comfortable car to drive, and the quality of the interior is unmatched. I also thought the exterior styling was unique amongst other cars in it's class and more "European". Shortly after we took the Audi A4 on a 24 hour test drive we took out a Saab 93 for a 24 hour test drive. My wife and I both immediately noticed a feeling of less comfort and quality as compared to the Audi. We even as far as to take the Saab by the Audi dealership to compare them side by side. The contest wasn't even close. The A4 far out weighed the Saab in terms of quality and comfort. A few months later we picked up a 1.8T Audi A4 and have loved it ever since. Unless you have plans to street race I would seriously consider the A4.
