Pros: Distinctive styling, acceleration, handling, more refined and luxurious with the 2004 refinements Cons: A bit less fun for 2004 (except CTSv), price keeps going up; CTSv shifter, ride
Note: My review of the CTSv follows my review of the 3.6. For decades, Cadillac was the leading seller of luxury cars in North America. Its lead began to slip when its cars were downsized in the 1980s, turning off the brands traditional ...
Pros: Styling, performance, handling, build quality. Much better than I ever expected from GM. Cons: Foot operated parking brake, an impractical glove box, Goodyear RS-A ires
I finally decided on the replacement for my last short term affair...a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. While I enjoyed the ride, it was beginning to wear thin on my aging bum and nerves. Add the fact that I began feeling faintly ridiculous pulling up in a ...
Pros: Good on gas for a 6-cylinder, Looks GREAT, Rides smooth and quiet. Cons: Kinda pricey, small glove box- you can actually ONLY fit your gloves in it.
Ok- so I'm 23 years old, and have been a proud (oh so proud) 2004 CTS owner since December 29, 2003. The day I saw it spinning on the platform at the Detroit Concept Car show, I knew I wanted it- the Crap-tera (Catera) was such a disappointment. The CTS ...
Pros: Exterior style; power; reliability Cons: some interior features; was not able to get a sunroof for a reasonable price
I have owned my 2004 CTS for a year and a half and it has been the most dependable GM vehicle I have ever owned. Even though this car is entering its 4th model year, there still aren't very many on the road (I like the individuality). It turns a ...
Pros: Comfortable to drive and ride in. Smooth, quiet, quick, great Bose system. Big trunk. Cons: VERY small glove compartment.
I love the lines on my car. It's very sporty looking and still stylish. I have the pearl white color and it almost glows. This is my first Cadillac. I had originally looked at Mercedes, and BMW. I am really happy with my car. Its a joy to drive. I know I made a great choice. Even my teenagers love it. I feel safe with On-Star on board.
Pros: Style, power, ride, handling, and comfort. Cons: Interior storage space could be laid out better and sunglass holder is needed.
Awesome! I feel great when I'm in this car. Great ride, great sound-quiet but you can hear the roar when you hit on it. Beautiful looks, great radio and heating controls on steering wheel, terrific acceleration and braking, and very comfortable. For six years I constantly looked at different cars and thought that a whole host of them would be great to own. Since I've gotten this one I don't even look at other cars. Kind of like finding the right woman. Gas mileage is very good for a car with this power and size. Trunk is much bigger than it looks.
European drive, American style by abarsh ,Dec 29 '03
Pros: Great to drive, Beautiful outer design Cons: Too much plastic inside
Cadillac picked up a serious task: beating the BMW 5 series. Well, as funny as it may sound, to my opinion - they've succeeded. A lot of power streams through the back wheels, just like a 530i. Strangely, however, Cadillac gives you the pure driving pleasure, while the Bavarian car filters the fun through all sorts of electronic equipment.
BUT. If style is what you're looking for, the CTS doesn't add as much as the German saloon. Cadillac CTS' cabin design is exaggerated. There's far too much plastic inside, nothing gentle or refined there. It seems like the engineers responsible for making the car's chassis did a great job, while Cadillac's boss forgot to tell the cabin designers: 'Hey, Cadillac has changed strategy'.
Lastly, I must admit the outer design is stunning. It's impossible to drive this car without making some innocent necks hurt...
Still A fantastic auto...Juanita is bogus by frederic20009 ,Jan 08 '05
Pros: great pickup, maneuverability, road handling, tight turning radius for u turns and parking, beautiful Cons: on star hardware needed fix. that is the only glitch in a perfect car.
this is the greatest car i have ever driven. it is an incredible car. i have owned it for 24 months. zero problems, 100 kisses. incredible pickup, torque, and tight and taut handling on corners and in high speed maneuvers. it just zooms out of tight spots i used to have to slow down for. great road feel. extremely responsive handling at high speeds. roars out of trouble. great braking. an unbelievable turning radius that lets me do a u-turn on a three lane street--no more driving around the block to turn around...and the tight turning radius makes parking in tight spots a breeze. great bose sound system, big trunk, very comfortable driving positions with excellent lumbar support for long trips, plus this is really a beautiful car. it even uses regular gas, and the 26 highway and 17 city is ok. i love this car, and every friend who has driven it loves this car. and i love parking it and just looking at it. fantastic
Juanita 's epinion is bogus. The things she describes are unbelievable unless her car has been in a serious accident. This is a great car.
I loved this car when I first seen it! This is my 3rd cadillac,Its sharp and its me! I cant wait to detail it the way I want. I like the way it looks and the way it sounds, and handles. The gas millage is pretty good, the seats are comfortable. My 2004,is Black with grey and black two tone seats, loaded. He's a beautiful ride,I named him Blackie...
this is the worst car I have ever bought, it is also the most dangerous, sure you can go from 0 to 60 but if its raining you cannot not stop even going 25 miles per hours, I pray when I am on the road for no rain and definately not even a miniscule amount of snow or I will have no control over the vehicles, this car frame makes noises as if it will fall apart, the definately pull to the right and this is when it is brand new, I am so so dissapointed in my new Cadillac CTS and I will never trust the makers of Cadillac again, this is my first and last cadillac this car is dangerous and unreliable, and a severe dissapointment, is the anyone else out there with similiar experiences, please e mail me at beeksj@dteenergy.com, I would really like to see how has had similiar experiences with this so-called-luxuary vehicle, thanks Juanita
The 2004 Cadillac CTS Is One Great Car! by mgadriver ,Sep 23 '04
Pros: Styling, comfort, handling, price. A great car for road trips. Cons: Interior dash is plain but can be dressed up with an aftermarket wood trim kit.
I did a lot of research on this and similar cars. I was looking at the Jag S-type, the Infinity G35, BMW 5 Series and the Audi 6. I am so glad I got the CTS! One reviewer wrote that driving the 2004 CTS with the 3.6 engine was what the BMW 5 series and Audi 6 were supposed to drive like. I agree. It is truly an impressive Euro sport sedan. Don't think for a moment that you'll get the famous Cadillac "boulevard ride" of the Deville. In the CTS the car's response is crisp and immediate. The road feel is what you would expect in an expensive sports sedan: comfortably firm. When you floor it to get out on the expressway from the on-ramp, the power and response is there. It is great fun to drive and I am one happy owner. Oh, and get the way cool wire mesh grille option. It's cheaper on the 'net (type "CTS mesh grille" into Google) than at the dealership! And did I mention really decent gas mileage for a car with its power? I get right at 26 mpg on the road and 20 in town.
Pros: Performance, ride, great seats Bose system On-star! Style! Cons: Plastic on steering wheel, foot emergency break
I have had my 2003 4 years now. I live in Calgary Canada, so I drive on ice and snow for 4 months of the year (the city doesn't plow residential streets). With winter tires traction control and stability control, I have never had a problem. I can't believe someone thinks this car can't handle rain>
