The Top Line Ive been driving a 2001 Escape for the last couple of years and I love it. Of course, there are a few things about the vehicle that can drive you crazy more later. Last year I rented a 2003 model and noticed a lot ...

--quick update January 9th 2004 - tidied up a few points -- Until October I owned the relatively small Honda Prelude, but with a second child on the way and the Honda getting a bit old anyway, something more practical was needed! In Cambridgeshire ...
I bought my Ford Escape after looking at and test driving a few other small SUV's. I was looking for a car with some good cargo space, 4WD, relatively good on gas, and some decent styling...all uder $25K. So I went and test drove the Escape. ...

What you are about to read is based on my recent test drive of the 2004 Ford Escape. We went to our local Ford Dealer to see if anything had changed between the 2003 model and the 2004. Unfortunately, very little changed. It is still a 4X4 ...

After buying a house and getting into the whole home improvement thing, it was time to get a vehicle with more hauling capacity than my two-door sports sedan. However, since friends and I go places, a pick-up was impractical, and I didn't want a huge ...
Pros: Lots of power, front wheel drive standard, great handling! Cons: Side curtain airbags should be standard, but aren't.
I have been driving a 1993 GMC Jimmy for quite some time. It finally gave out and I needed a new vehicle. I wanted to get another SUV, but did not want a full size version. This summer, we rented a 2003 Ford Escape and drove it from Cincinnati to Clearw ...
Pros: For it's price range, it's a reasonable alternative. Cons: Vertically challenged folks, read on.
We needed a new vehicle for Mom; she's been driving a 1993 Toyota Camry Wagon since it was new. I've been driving extended cab pick-ups, from Toyota to GMC, and now a Chevy with four doors. Considerations: We live on a dirt road (durability, comfort), we ...
Pros: gas mileage, no mechanical problems so far, good buy for the money. Cons: LOTS of wind noise, uncomfortable seats, cheap looking interior
I wish we would have shopped around more than we did when buying this vehicle. We had such good luck with our other Ford products, we wanted another. We like our Escape, but there are many things we also don't like. We bought the V6 Automatic. It came ...

I bought my 2005 Escape XLS (4 cyl/5 spd) after owning multiple import small economy cars (Mazda, Acura, Honda). My wife previously had an Explorer which we liked, so I was looking for a smaller version of that. I wanted something which was roomier, ...

How to start? I bought a Ford Escape XLT 4X4 for my wife as we needed a new car here in western nevada. We've had it for about 3 weeks and put about 4000 miles on it with a cross country road trip to the mid west. This thing all in all is a solid ...

We have a 2004 Ford Escape for my job and I have been driving it since 6/04. I have to say there are some good things but mainly BAD things, I would have expected a lot more from Ford that what they have created. My Dept got this "Escape" to replace ...

Pros: Good gas mileage, alot of headroom with sunroof option Cons: Noisy, stiff seats, plastic trim rattles, very poor craftsmanship
Had a Chevy for 2 years with a lot of problems. Parents only drive Fords with great luck, so decided to go with it. Bought an 04 XLT and within 20,000 miles, they had replaced the lifters, cam followers, a cylinder head, throttle body, outside trim panel, sunroof motor, window motor, window trim piece, and more that I can't seem to remember. Still having engine/idling problems that the dealer has seen, but of course the truck won't act up when on the computer. Have had the truck since April of '04, and it has been in the shop for a total of 9 1/2 weeks, and the cost to Ford for parts, labor and rental is over $9,000.00. Ford is very picky about which service shop repairs anything, so make sure that you buy from a dealer with a great service department, because with this vehicle, you will need it. Truck will definately be gone before Warranty is up. Will never buy another Ford again.
