Pros: Lots of space and towing capacity, go anywhere do anything Cons: Storage could be better, locking diff would be a good option

A Tank on Wheels
by obx560 ,Jan 29 '04
Pros: Big, Roomy, can tow up to 10,000 pounds Cons: part time 4X4, bad MPG(V-10), stiff ride, bad maneuverability
The 2004 Ford Excursion is a very roomy SUV. It seats up to nine people, and still has a lot of cargo room. One annoying aspect is that the spare tire sits in the back cargo area and take up a lot of room and makes it hard at times when backing out. It is larger then the Chevy Suburban. If you get the heated seats, they warm up fast. The past reliability has been average. In my mind the only faster accelerating engine is the power stroke diesel V-8. The V-10 is better for towing nut get very bad MPG, and does not accelerate very fast at all. The four wheel drive is only part time, unlike its rivals.
