Pros: Refinement, upscale interior, taut handling, seats, innovation everywhere Cons: Overweight, overly taut ride, rear doors do not open 180 degrees, high price
Ive never owned a pickup, and possibly never will. But I just had to drive the redesigned Ford F-150 as soon as it appeared on dealers' lots. Why? Ford's financial health has been shaky lately, and no product is more critical to this health than ...
Pros: To many to post, see the bottom of the review. Cons: None I can find
I had outgrown the towing and payload capacity of my 99 Ranger SuperCab 4x4, and had been considering upgrading to a full size pickup. My friend just bought a Titan, but surprisingly told me, he had seriously considered a new F-150 with all the ...
Pros: Quiet, smooth, excellent forward and side visibility, large payload, reliable, well thought out Cons: grill attached to hood, little tall for gals to get in without running boards
I have an 1987 Ford Ranger Supercab thats still going strong and I wanted a new fullsize 4x4 to haul all my stuff. I bought a 2004 F150 XLT Supercab with a decent amount of extras. I love the the truck it's big, when you go four wheeling through the ...
Pros: Excellent ride, quiet cab, strong motor, Audiophile sound system. Cons: Brake dust on front wheels never ends.
November 29, 2004 will be one year that I have had my 2004 F-150 FX4 Supercab. I got curious about the new F-150 and just had to go look at it. Needless to say, four hours later the F-150 was in my driveway and my trusty '98 Dodge Ram 4x4 was sitting ...
Pros: Ford Motor Company are the "pros", for side stepping the issue. T Cons: Read above!!
Steering wheel vibration , shimmy almost reaches the violent stage at various speeds. Have replaced tires, rotors and just about everything else.
Ford rep stated "Well there is going to be some nibbling in the steering wheel, that is normal"
Shakes so bad, I do not want to even keep my hands on the wheel!!
Our company has purchased 4 of these vehicles at the same time and guess what......they all do it.
Time for Ford to find a fix for this.
I just cannot imagine a $35,000 truck having a violent shaking steering wheel and then it be called normal.
Shame on Ford Motor Company for ignoring an obvious problem.
Maybe when it shakes so violently and I lose control of the wheel and crash and burn, Ford can make my wife a wealthy woman.
Pros: looks, ride, style, utility, sport Cons: gas gas gas gas mileage :)
Wow. I saw this truck at the Van's Triple Crown Wakeboarding Championships in Indy this August. I wanted it immediately. Solar yellow, black trim, all black leather interior, power everything, and the awesome "Flow thru" center console shifter are all things that make this one of the coolest thing on wheels I've ever been in.
Traditionally, I am a sportscar driver (Just got out of a Lexus IS300, before that a VR6) and I needed to move into an SUV with 2 young kids. I pretty much HATED all the traditional SUVs out there, but this FX4 grabbed me. It is awesome in all but 1 regard:
Gas mileage SUCKS. I'm at maybe 10 mpg, driving like a granny in the city most of the time. Oh well, I sure look good doing it.
Pros: Drives like a car Cons: Really i don't have one
Once again the fords are #1 in my book. These trucks are like driving a oversized town car w all the off road fun you want.If you are looking for a truck to really enjoy the ride. I would buy this truck.great tunes
Pros: Best truck for the money Cons: The large "Ford" emblem located in the middle of the tailgate.
How can someone who "has never owned and probably will never own" the Ford F150 have an opinion, or better yet "review" this truck? (see first review).
Would not surprise me if he has a Dodge 1500 in his garage.
(and if he does hope he has multiple gas cards, and looks forward to a transmission rebuild at about 60k miles)
I OWN a 2004 XLT, and will give an accurate review.
It has a very quiet interior, exterior is very tight, quality is above average. My truck has the 4.6 engine, has adequate power, but could use alittle more. Its a well appointed truck, i did drive the Dodge 1500 quad cab before buying the Ford, it drove identical to the 2001 Ford XLT that i was trading in, including interior noise and bumpy ride. The Dodge did come with a few more options than the Ford at the same price.
From a female's perspective: roomy, nice ride, easy steering, and beautiful! by fancyh ,May 26 '04
Pros: Plenty of room; easy to steer, nice extras, easy to add on extras. Cons: Difficult to figure mileage, no big deal; we can't get messages off our cell phone!
Just drove Ford F150 SuperCab 4WD 700 miles to the beach and back. Great Ride! Two of my girlfriends had never ridden in a truck; they thought it was great. They were quite surprised at how well it rode. I have a new Acura and the truck is almost as nice a ride! We liked the fact that it was fairly easy to get into; nice high pulls for each door. Cup holders in door; front and between seats.
We purchased the Ford after driving and reviewing a Dodge and Chevorlet. The Ford had a much better outside appearance and better ride.
Has Ford outdone itself? by guitarguy612 ,Dec 28 '03
Pros: Comfortable ride, roomy front, Bose sound, Powerful. Cons: Not so roomy in back, shows wear after heavy loads.
Recently a member of my family has purchased a new Ford F150 SuperCab 4WD and let me tell you, I love it. I have not always been a fan of Ford, but after driving in this Ford my opinion has changed. The F150 is great for anyone from a teenager to a working class construction man. The first thing I noticed was the superior comfort of the passenger seat. The leg room was wonderful. Also, the BOSE sound system was impressive. This pickup truck is as comfortable as any car, and just as powerful and tough as any other pick up of it's class. The back is not as roomy as I would like, but what can you expect in a pickup truck. Otherwise, it is a wonderful car and is sure to impress anyone.
Ford 2004 FX4 I gave you my impression about this truck by ford-fx4 ,Mar 27 '05
Pros: This is the best Truck I never had. Cons: This is the best Truck I never had.

What a truck, I pull a Fith Wheel 27 Feet (8,000Pounds) no problem what so ever I have make 4000 Milles going down Florida Perfect , Very strong ,Powerfull, confortable no noice at all, and what a truck. I am very Happy with this truck. I can recommended this truck to any body
Pros: Ride, comfort, stability. Cons: Gas! Getting around 16mpg. The front floor mats will not stay put.
This truck rides like a car. This is my first Ford truck and I really like it. Strong engine, good vehicle height for the rough off road use. Comfortable, well thought out cab. Lots of room!
Good luck getting anywhere with the vibration issues. This problem is growing among 2004 F150 owners. I as well purchased a 2004 F150. 5 trip later to two different dealers and the truck still vibrates. The first four trips (to the same dealer) involved rebalancing the tires. I decided to go to a different dealer. He balanced the tires as well and also cut the rotors. Now the truck squeels like a stuck pig when braking (still vibrates too). Built Ford Tough?
Pros: Very quiet, good towing power, stylish interior and exterior Cons: Pricey, gas mileage , vibration in front end
I recently purchased this truck, overall I am very satisfied. I am interested if any owners have encountered the same problem I have, a moderate to severe vibration in the front end, very noticeable between the speeds 50 to 60 MPH. Several inspections and tire balancing by the dealer have not solved the problem.
