Pros: GT's burbling V8 has loads of character, exterior styling still looks great. Cons: Awkward driving position, dated interior, lifeless steering, laborious transmission, unsophisticated suspension, uninteresting V6 model.
My Experience I recently attended the Ford Racing Innovation Drive event in Pasadena. It was held at Irwindale Speedway, and was essentially a showcase for Ford's new 2005 models--with the all-new Mustang as a centerpiece. After an awesome ...

Pros: Comfortable seats, secure handling (on smooth roads) Cons: Weak, loud, and rough engine; lazy transmission, awful fit and finish
Last week while vacationing in San Francisco I rented a Ford Mustang convertible from Enterprise for a three-day excursion up the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). On the second day we drove over the coastal range into the Anderson valley so my wife could ...
Pros: Acceleration; Sporty look and feel; Great sound system Cons: Small, tight interior; Ride isn't very smooth; Tiny trunk
Ford Mustang is a classic sports car that has been in production now for more than 40 years. Popular as a “muscle” car, the Ford Mustang has been helping drivers tear up the streets for four decades with its quick acceleration and sporty styling. ...
Pros: price, performance, style, large hobbiest bolt on market, and great factory options Cons: Gas mileage, and very small back seats
I'd like to start off by saying that I actually own this vehicle, and not reviewing based on a test drive. Reviewing on a test drive is nice, but it wont really tell you how it handles in day to day use. The Mustang is rated the best-selling ...
Pros: Engine note, RWD, a fast car that is actually fun to drive slow. Cons: Fit/finish, tall gears, blind spots, personality, mileage, comfort, transmission, practicality, seating, insurance.
I used to have a love affair with American muscle cars of the 1960's. I have always been interested in small, cheap and overpowered cars for the emotions they can provide. Around the time I was getting my driver's license, I actually bought an old ...
Pros: V8 power, V8 music, Rear drive Cons: The 1978 Fox platform is really showing its age
I drove the 2004 Mustang GT (manual transmission) back-to-back with the new 2005 model. Much of this review, as was my review of the 2005, is a direct comparison with the newer car. Each review is from the point of the view of the car being reviewed, ...
Pros: Inexpensive, Powerful, Well Built, Head Turner Cons: Fuel Economy, Practicality, Rear Seat Comfort
When I woke up on New Years Day 2005, I did not expect to have a new car sitting in my driveway a few hours later. My 1988 Honda Accord sedan, derisively nicknamed "Grandma's Grocery Getter", was parked out front, legally undriveable due to a hit-and-run ...
Pros: Amazingly fun to drive, easy to upgrade, affordable Cons: Shoddy interior, poor gas mileage
Like a previous reviewer, let me begin by stating that I have owned a 2004 GT convertible for about a year now, and have over 16K miles on it. I wanted a Mustang for a LONG time, and finally went and got one (much to my wife's chagrin). Another caveat ...
Pros: Style, performance, price Cons: Small rear seats. Too firm a ride for anyone looking for comfort.
I own a silver 2004 Mustang GT, 40th Anniversary Edition, automatic transmission, with a premium sound system, the Mach 1000 with 6 CD changer. Personally, I like the styling of the 2004 better than the 2005, though I know the 2005 is all the rave these ...
I recently bought a 04 Mustang GT in black/black leather with the 5spd trans and the premium trim with the Mach 460 sound system. Firstly I LOVE the looks of the car, the stock bullitt rims are great and the stock Mach 460 sound system is one of if not ...
04 GT Convertible suits me fine by garyfi ,Dec 07 '04
Pros: GREAT stock exhaust sound. Aggressive styling. 40th anniversary is cool. Cons: I have no cons to list!
I drove the new 05 Mustang then drove an 04. The 05 is a bit more refined but I preferred the torquier better sounding 04. It has a muscle car feel that this old hot rodder (56 yr old) feels comfortable with. I bought a loaded Torch red 04 GT premium convertible and just love it. The automatic transmission is sweet and I like the traction control. If I want to play a little all I have to do is switch off the traction control. It only has about a thousand miles on it and mileage has been about 19-20 MPG. in mostly rural driving. It is hard not to mash the gas pedal because it sounds so good! That is much better mileage than my 69 Mach1 did, and this is a much nicer car, and feels just as quick. Plus there are great deals on the remaining 04's.
Pros: Excellent looks, brute force v-8 pull. Cons: Poor workmanship with body panels matching unevenly, and troublesome reliability. Poor fuel economy.
I was in the market for a car for my 22 year old son, something sporty this time. I took out a low mileage 05 Mustang GT with a 5-speed. I loved the looks of the car, and asked to take it for a ride. Of course, the salesman went with me. He suggested that I put it through the paces to enjoy the brute horsepower feel. As I stepped on it, it pulled strongly, but lacked any real feedback. It was like driving something that was totally numb. Sure, it pulled strongly, but had a truck-like feel to it. The interior looked like it was slapped together due to uneven gaps in the dashboard assembly, and hearing the number of rattles while driving helped me to make my mind up quite quickly...no Mustang GT for me, but my son loved it. He owned it for about 2 months when the a/c quit working. We brought it back under warranty. A week later the differential began leaking. We again brought it back, got it fixed. We went to the local Honda dealer and found a 2003 Honda S-2000 with low miles. We traded the Mustang.
Pros: Rear wheel drive, 6-disc CD player, sporty styling, punchy V-6 Cons: none really, its 20K economy/sport car, asking more is dumb
I have driven Lincolns for a few long years. I was looking into buying another till I saw a black '04 Mustang. I figured a change of pace was in check. I bought my "Eleanor" Aug, '04. She has the Pony Package, leather rapped steering wheel, GT hood scoop, rear air spoiler, and a few perks. Im now at 4,550 miles. The only problem I had with her is the wheel balance. Took it in to my local Ford dealer and it was taken care of. I miss some of the toys my Lincoln Town Cars had, but I like having an American made 2-door again. Last one I had was a 1975 Lincoln Mark 4.
