Pros: Smooth, quiet ride, decent fuel economy, terrific seats Cons: Handles like an SUV
Well, here it is, my first ever review of an SUV. The reason? Simple, as a class, I just don’t like them, and given the option, I would pay real money to uninvent both the SUV and the minivan. So if I am so biased, why and I reviewing one? Two ...
Pros: Roomy, car-like ride, features and warranty at an unbelievable price. Cons: Gas Mileage depending on Engine choice.
The Hyundai Santa Fe, first introduced in 2001 has become a HUGE success for the korean automaker. At first there were waiting lists of buyers wanting to become owners, and 3 years later Santa Fe's are still selling like hot cakes. With both car and SUV ...
Pros: Good-looking model, good on gas, plenty of space... Cons: Transmission kick is a scary sign...
This big bad sucker is the next best thing to lots of other vehicles, but when you combine their best-ofs, it's hard to beat everything this one has to offer. It doesn't climb like a jeep, or pack like an SUV, or drive like a cruiser, but it's got its ...
I purchased a maroon 2004 Santa Fe around the end of March 2004. I wasn't really in the market (my current vehicle was good for at least another six months) but Hyundai was running nice deals on a already attactively priced vehicle. I had looked ...
I just recently rented a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2WD equipped with the 2.7 Liter V6. I did think of the Santa Fe as a somewhat different kind of car, different than the majority of SUV's in terms of exterior and interior styling, as well as how it ...
When I purchased my '04 Santa Fe new, I had already tested many others, from the Mazda Tribute to the Toyota Hylander. I got every bell and whistle available. No power seats, not even as an option. I understand this has been changed. In a very ...
Pros: Cost, rides like a car and looks Cons: Dealers, maintenance and long waits
I was out car shopping during the winter break of my freshman year in college. It was January of 2005 and I was looking for something I could take back to school with me. I came across the Santa Fe through articles posted online and after reading a ...
Pros: Roomy; easy for elderly mom to get into and out of; cargo space; color Cons: Fuel economy; long reach to controls; palpable shifting
I'm one of those SUV owners who actually needs all-wheel drive. I owned Subaru and Saturn sedans for six years, driving a country road at night in the snow, and was terrified of winter driving. (The Saturns were actually pretty good with snow tires on, ...
Pros: Excellent value for the price! Cons: There is no status to owning this vehicle, but who cares!
I remember when one of my best friends had a Hyundai Excel back in the 80s, and I had to drive it, let's just say it wasn't a great experience. From that time on, I was not interested in Hyundai. Well, in the last couple of years, another good friend ...
Pros: Great Fuel Mileage - Awesome Warranty - Great Vehicle For The Money! Cons: Leather Seats Are A Bit Stiff - No Electric Seats
Yep, I bought a Korean made SUV! Being the avid Mopar fan that I am, I never thought I'd buy something foreign. Of course with the cars today, nothing is manufactured totally in America. The parts come from all over the globe. The last trip my wife ...
Pros: Nice handling, reliable, low maintenance, roomy Cons: 3.5l '04 transmission lurches a bit (I think they have since fixed this)
I bought the 3.5L Santa Fe in 04 .....I totally did not expect the snap that that gas pedal can give. This car is zippy, reliable, smooth looking, and roomy. I love it! We shopped Ford, and Chevy (I was a Chevy girl) and neither of them could compete ...
I had the choice between three different SUVs in this price range which was either a SUZUKI; a JEEP OR the Santa FE: Since I am a woman whis not to much into cars I do not care about technical details or any extras. From the design I thought this one ...
Pros: Cargo Space, Passenger Space, Great A/C, Nice-looking vehicle Cons: 4-cylinder engine is underpowered, Back hatch a bit hard to close
We purchased a midnight blue 2004 Santa Fe because we just had to have more space to haul baby stuff around. For short trips, we can actually put 2 adults in the back seat with the car seat, which is what we needed along with great cargo space. Basically, we bought the cheapest thing we could find that gave us the space we needed. Unfortunately, that meant we had to get the 4-cylinder engine; that's the only thing I don't like is the poorer acceleration and power; buy the V6 if you can possibly afford it!!
Pros: Size, Handling, Appearance, Included features, Best warranty on the market. Cons: None so far.
We just purchased this vehicle and have found it to be comfortable and very nice. We opted for the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine rather than the 6, due to better gas mileage. We upgraded from a 1996 Hyundai Accent, and the change is unbelievable! Its like a company that used to make golf carts is now manufacturing REAL cars and in this case an SUV. So far I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants a lot of options at a lower price.
Best buy for your money!! by stefano_23 ,Oct 26 '04
Pros: Fuel Efficient, strong, smooth, handles great Cons: Still trying to find some.
I purchased the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2WD approximately 7 months ago, and it was the best decision I have ever made. This is a smooth, strong ride which handles great. I get approximately 600km's to a tank of gas, and have not had a single problem with it (Touch wood).
Just before purchasing this vehicle, I test drove and research the Ford Escape, and Mazda Tribute. The Ford Escape felt like a dinky tin can, and the Mazda Tribute was a nice ride, but the interior design and exterior design didn't appeal to me.
Then I took the 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe, 2 WD, Manual transmission for a drive...wow! That was a great test drive! The vehicle feels much stronger then the dinky Ford and un-appealing Mazda. for a 4Cyclinder, it had great pick-up and launches in third gear.
I'm going to keep this review short. This is a great vehicle, it's good looking, great on gas, plenty of room and Hyundai's leasing and financing options are the best in the business. I also received their new Warranty which blew me away. I purchased the vehicle immediately after my test drive.
