Should have gotten a Trailblazer..

by nightrider269 , Mar 09 '06
Pros: Power, easy steering, small and compact
Cons: Weird transmission, no traction in wet conditions, horrible gas mileage, poor suspension
I have been very unhappy with this vehicle. Some of the problems associated with it are common cons of Jeeps, but this thing is pathetic. First of all, in the rain, it's dangerous. No traction at all. My dad was on an on-ramp one evening after a short ...

Jeep Addiction

by sumor , Sep 08 '04
Pros: Perfect size, rides well, very cool
Cons: Other than the fabric on the seats, none so far!
I always wanted a jeep. I can remember being about four, and seeing a photo of my dad, who was then in the reserves, sitting kind of with one leg in one out of a Jeep. I knew right then and there that I'd get one "some day". Well, I didn't get the ...

Don't waste your money

Pros: Label says Jeep Trail Rated
Cons: Doesn't perform as advertised, Warranty is useless
I am the owner of a 2004 Jeep Liberty and it has proved to be little better than junk as a 4WD. I live where I require 4wd to get to my home and have in the past owned several Jeeps that performed well. The Liberty's 4WD system gave up with less than 15K on the Vehicle and Jeep refused warranty work because we drove the vehicle 40 miles to the dealership with an odd size wheel as a spare (the other spare was flat due to 4WD not working). The temporary spare was from another jeep that I own and the only difference was that one wheel/rim was 16" and the borrowed wheel/rim was 15". Both tires had the same circumference. Jeep insists that this caused the damage. They also told me that they would not cover burned out brake lights because I may have driven through a mud puddle. Jeep is not Jeep anymore and they do not stand behind their product.

Jeep Liberty Limited
by davidk2345 ,Jan 28 '04
Pros: 4x4 handling, heated seats, overall look and feel
Cons: Dealership (hate them)
Let me warn you - I only have the Liberty for exactly 3 days and 60 miles but.....

I had a Jeep Cherokee while living in Southern California. It was a 4x2 but who cared? I lived in SoCal. But.... I moved to NY and if you know the winter we had so far, it was a time to get a 4x4 vehicle. I actually feared for my life but that is another story.

Got the Jeep Liberty Limited all decked out and love it. Why? Well we had a 9 inch snowstorm yesterday and I was looking forward to testing it out. It passed with flying colors. Absolutely LOVED it!!!

The handling was superb and never skidded for a second. Felt safe - something I have missed.

Great JEEP!!

Only thing I disliked was... THE DEALERSHIP!!

2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4x4
by couldbebetter ,Apr 30 '07
Pros: CUTE, big enough for me, did I say CUTE
Cons: Gas Mileage, acceleration, uncomfortable seats, window controls in back
Cute, love the look, had to have the roof rack, light bar, and a sunroof. Found that the rear doors are small for a 6' person to use. Bought the Liberty on Saturday, returning on Tuesday. Was trading in my Durango because of gas mileage, turns out they get nearly the same. Going back to the Dodge Durango for the extra room, rear air and seat comfort, plus payment is less. Sad to see it go because it is very cute, but I have managed to talk sense into myself that CUTE doesn't equal good trade. If I didn't drive nearly 1000 miles a week and it was only me, no kids or dogs it would be great and I could make due on the looks alone, but the kids are growing and so are the dogs.

THE PERFECT BLEND OF LUXURY CAR & RUGGED SUV
by cindiknows ,Oct 07 '04
Pros: great gas mileage for an SUV, comfortable, tough, roomy, cold factory A/C,fun to drive.
Cons: some blind spots when backing up because of its height so WATCH OUT!
I previously had a Jeep Wrangler and loved it's toughness, but not it's bumpy noisy ride. With the Liberty you get a smooth quiet comfortable ride, lots of leg room and tons of room to carry people and stuff. Plus you can hit the dirt, mud, back roads, desert, water where ever you like to run wild with the strength and reliability of a heavy duty truck. In my twenty years of driving this is the BEST car i have ever had and at about 24k, well worth the price tag.

Liberty Renegade
by duce22 ,Apr 12 '04
Pros: leather seats, onboard computer, wheel mounted stereo controls
Cons: acceleration
i bought my jeep a little over a month ago. so far everything has been fine. yes she's a bit thirsty and the power off the line is very lame (i had a subaru wrx) but other then that i am a big fan. i love the renegade package and the computer cluster on the roof. the infinity speakers sound great and i am sure i will add some bump to it. i would reccomend this ride. by the way, the ride is alot less bumby then i guessed it would be after reading the reviews.

Not great
by metde ,Feb 09 '05
Pros: 4X4, small great for parking on street. heater is really hot.
Cons: backwindow, gas hog, little loud
Not great but for the price it was a good deal. good in snow with 4X4. Bad in rain without 4X4. backwindow pops up if not locked in subzero temps. if your driving on the side of a slope car shuts off(99% of you probably will never find this out). I would recommend it, its great for 4-wheeling

Refined Quality - On or Off Road with Luxury style 4X4 and Class
by eurothrash1168 ,Oct 27 '07
Pros: Acelleration is fantastic - peppy 6 cylinder. Rides like a larger SUV.
Cons: Larger glove box would be nice. And Xenon head lights as an option.
I traded in my Jaguar X-Type for this Liberty Limited 3.7 6 cyl with select trac.
I Needed to cart around 2 kids and an English Bulldog but wanted the same comfort and interior styling I was used to. My limited has all the same options and interior quality my 40K Jaguar had including: Heated power leather seating for 5, Power sun roof, windows, mirrors, locks, rear hatch, auto dim rear view mirror, and an awesome 6 CD stereo system. My Jag stereo pales in comparison.
But don't let the looks fool you. It is a very capable real off roader, with great road clearance, and power to spare. Excellent in the snow as well. My V6 has great excelleration on ramps getting into highway traffic, and has an unbelievable turning radius. I get 22 mpg all around driving. But if you like to press the vertical pedal, you will only get around 18-19.
It's like a 4x4 Jaguar SUV, and I love it. Not sure about the 2008's though, Heard Mercedes Benz ( Diamler )no longer has a hand in it's design any longer.

LOVE THIS JEEP
by rowdyrugbyNew Member ,Aug 18 '08
Pros: Reliable, safe, Jeep.
Cons: Not enough storage space for nick-knacks in front, terrible gas mileage
I bought a 2004 Jeep Liberty after driving a 1995 Buick Skylark for a few years. I just sold my Liberty because I have to pay for school.

Despite some flak you;ll receive from other Jeepers, this is a true rugged Jeep.

It handles extremely well on the road and has performed EXTREMELY well in Upper Peninsula snow. You can take it to do mild 2-tracking and even fording small streams and rivers.

There is plenty of storage space. The seats fold down.

There is great visibility and the drivers seat offers a great view of the road.

I drove it on many road trips and had ZERO problems with the Jeep. The seats are at first a little different but the key is taking the wallet out of your pocket.

The sound system is decent.

It seems to carry the problem of every Jeep- inability to find the right temperature for the car.
