RX is no longer for couples with kids
by sonya420 ,Jul 17 '04
Pros: All the extras, the comfort, etc Cons: NONE
I am a young professional who traded in her CLK 320 coupe for this truck. It has an amazing NAVIGATION with touch screen access which NONE of the German cars have. I also own 2 Mercedes and this navigation blows the other ones away.
Also there are many "cool" extras such as a reverse camera which really does make your life easier and a button both on the remote and in the car to open the back door.
I also took the double sunroof extra which gives me a sunroof that extends to the entire backseat.
The upgraded sound system is wonderful too.
I understand that the car is still a Lexus and not as prestigious as the German cars but the value for your dollar with this truck is unparallel.
This is no longer a young couples first car. It is sporty and comfortable and can off-road with the best of them.
I highly recommend this truck.

Well defined and quality befitting a Toyota
by legion242 ,Aug 18 '04
Pros: Good Value. Good Finish. Toyota reliability. Very well concieved. Cons: Could have used better rear vision. Small annoyances that really add up to little.
From purchashing to driving, a remarkable experience. The dealership experience was like no other I had experienced (with maybe the exception of purchasing my MINI over the internet). The dealership (Park Place, in Dallas) was low stress. The salesman only wanted to answer questions and make us comfortable, I never felt like I was being "sold" a car. From Day One, he let us dictate what options we wanted and he never pressured us into anything.
The car itself is very well equipped for what I think is a reasonable price. It is very luxurious inside and out and has only small imperfections. Petty things like: there should be no steering wheel controls for stereo when the stereo is so close at hand already- redundant. A little tight in the brakes. Odometer only shows Trip or Overall and not both at once- very trivial. I had wanted a Touraeg, but am glad with my purchase.

This a very nice SUV
by pcoe6 ,Dec 03 '03
Pros: Refined luxury, reliability, quality throughout Cons: expensive, could have even more power but power is fine
I purchased my Lexus RX 330 in May when they were first released. I shopped for my new car for over 3 years and didn't really find anything that suited my needs - luxury, nice styling, and supreme reliability.
This is a wonderful SUV. I have no real complaints. It is simply a joy to drive and it has many useful luxury features. I believe that the BMW X5 was a bit more fun to drive but it simply isn't as reliable a car. (A friend of mine had one and got rid of it because it was constantly in the shop. Also, the BMW dealer confirmed that there were a few more issues related to reliability compared to the RX.)
My car is loaded (back up camera, DVD, navigation system). At first, I thought that these items might be a little gimmicky and unnecessary. I was wrong. My kids love the DVD and I constantly use the navigation system to find the shortest (not best known) routes between places.

Old folks car
by blutechnophile ,Feb 21 '08
Pros: Beautifully designed interior and exterior Cons: Since I'm 26, I feel like an old person when driving it.
I've wanted this car for a long time. Probably about 3 years.I'm 26 with no kids. I've finally bought it and while most of my friends are driving sports cars and more sporty SUVs, I feel like an old woman driving this car. Maybe I should trade it for a convertible??
