Pros: Transmission, Price, Interior, Handling. Cons: Could use a bit more power.
Summary: I was never a fan of the naturally aspirated versions of the Mazda RX-7 back in the 1980s and early '90s, so when I heard that the all new Mazda RX-8 would be turboless I was not exactly thrilled about the news. The all new RX-8 is definitely eye ... read more

Pros: Insanely fun to drive, bang for the buck! Cons: It could use a turbocharger.
Summary: When I decided to buy a new car I had some fairly specific criteria in mind. I'm single and rarely need to haul people or cargo, so I don't need a large vehicle. That means I may as well have something I can enjoy driving. I've always been a sports car ... read more

Pros: Good looks, handling, braking Cons: Reliability, poor quality materials, annoying rear half-doors
Summary: The RX-8 can be very entertaining to drive under ideal conditions (winding road, with no traffic). The car is perfectly balanced, handles flawlessly, and brakes with authority. However, its lack of torque requires you to "rev it like you hate it" in ... read more

Pros: -2 power ports
-reach back
-double doors Cons: -gas mileage
-interior covers
Summary: Not only is the Mazda RX-8 the coolest car currently made, it is not just a sports car, but really useful, too. With the suicide doors, there's no divider in between the front and back doors. This means you can fit large items in that you couldn't in a ... read more

Pros: Back seat and rear doors, powertrain, ride, and Bose stereo system Cons: Have to warmup engine, gas mileage and people always wanting to race.
Summary: I bought this car in October 2004, and I have to say that this is the best car I have ever purchased. Mind you, I did have to take my car in for some recalls that had not been performed by the dealer before I purchased, which is illegal. But, that is ... read more

Pros: Handling, power, stability, ride, price. Incredible performance that you can live with & afford. Cons: Lousy gas mileage, interior fit & finish quality.
Summary: Mazda had a reputation in the past for building fun, sporty cars. I used to own a 1989 626 and it was a great little car, pretty clearly the best car I ever owned. Inexpensive to buy, rock solid and maintenance-free, and fun to drive. Think a more ... read more

Pros: Amazing high-rpm engine, perfect transmission, beautiful body-styling, fairly practical, comfortable, and 100% FUN! Cons: Poor gas mileage, mediocre air conditioning, impossible to drive speed limit, requires radar detector!
Summary: This is without a doubt the most amazing car I've ever driven. I test drove a Nissan 350Z and a Chrysler Crossfire and neither can compare with the RX-8. Sure the 350Z is faster but its not nearly as much fun to drive. Everything about the RX-8 is ... read more

Pros: Rotary engine, front seat comfort and support, aggressively good exterior looks, superior brakes, practicality, value. Cons: Base sound system very average, poor fuel economy, could use more low-end torque.
Summary: Since I was a kid, I have always wanted to own a sports car... There is something to be said about being able to zip from lane to lane at will and go around corners at speed with ease. That said, I never considered buying one due to practicality ... read more

Pros: Incredible power, great handling, unique identity, unbeatable value Cons: Horsepower issues, clutch, rear-seat room, digital speedometer
Summary: Mazda has been on a campaign to attract a new market of owners for itself. For a while, especially after the disappearance of the RX-7 rotary coupe and the MX-6 coupe, the words "Mazda" and "sport" were nowhere near synonymous. Except for the Miata ... read more

Pros: Well built. Tight. Fast. Responsive. Affordable. Fast. Corners Well. Fast. 4-seater. Cons: Can flood when cold. Low gas mileage. First model-year.
