Pros: Eager performance, direct steering, versatile interior, loads of character, solid feel. Cons: Poorly-matched engine and transmission, some interior trim reveals GM cheapness, slightly awkward driving position.
My Experience I test-drove a Pontiac Vibe GT at a local dealership. My test drive lasted about half an hour and covered city streets, winding secondary roads, and (briefly) the freeway. Performance The Vibe GT's energetic ...

Pros: Functional interior design/features, sleek exterior, nice to drive, very comfortable seats, leg/head room. Cons: Disappointing gas mileage, noisy, no telescopic steering, standard stereo mediocre, interior panels scuff easily.
We have the base model 130 HP automatic with lots of options. I want to say right off the bat that I wouldnt have considered buying this vehicle if it wasnt 80% Toyota-built. Our previous vehicle was a ForeRunner, and Toyota is hard to beat ...

Pros: Practical, fun, fuel economy, quality, relative comfort Cons: Some limited safety options for 2003-4 (improved for 2005)
Overall, the Vibe is a practical, reliable, versatile small car that doesn't feel that small. It's Toyota DNA makes it reliable, while the Pontiac styling works for this car. We purchased our 2004 Vibe in December 2003. I drove it for 8 months ...

Pros: Interior space (with seats folded down), good gas mileage, reasonable price. Cons: Some blind spots. I wish you could get it with a tape deck too.
Okay, I read the reviews of the 2003 Vibe, and a lot of them seem to be from people who test drive lots of cars or are otherwise very mechanically-minded. Here's a review from your Average Jane. My husband and I are active, and we were getting rid of ...

Pros: Usefullness, Attractive, Moons & Tunes package, mileage per gallon, durability Cons: paint sucks, warranty could be longer
We bought this mini-suv back in aug 2003. It now has over 36,000 miles and is out of warranty. The little red car has been an incredible ride all this time. We are still on the original Eagle RSA tires and still meat left. The only thing to go bad so far ...

Pros: roomy, versatile, lean on gas and good build quality Cons: susceptible to side wind
A Japanese car made in the States, Vibe is a very comprehensive and useful sub-SUV. Bought it for more than a year now, the car's quality is holding up to the testing of the northern weather. It's roomy, versatile, and lean on gas for the 1.8L engine ...

Pros: Interior space, 30 mpg, aggressive look, comfortable ride Cons: rearview obstructed by headrests
Pontiac Vibe is a good choice for an everyday driver. Orange metallic color is awesome. Bought it back in September of 2003, satisfied so far. Good handling, brakes (abs), more than average steering wheel radius allows for much tighter turns in small ...

Pros: MPG (30/35), comfortable seats, Toyota engine & powertrain, sporty exciting styling, smooth as silk. Cons: Engine little noisy, visability, plastic interior components, limited interior colors.
We started out looking for either a Subaru Outback, PT Cruiser, or a Pontiac Vibe, focusing on proven quality and durability. We were very surprised by the PT Cruiser's quality and functionality (2004 Turbo Limited). I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and ...

Pros: Cargo room, gas mileage, comfortable cabin, price. Cons: Acceleration
I bought my Vibe from Hertz car sales with 19k miles on it. My previous car was a Toyota Corolla wagon that my grandpa gave me. The car is used mostly for going to work, carrying groceries and visiting home a few times per week. I've also used it to help ...

Pros: Sporty styling, great gas milage, Toyota engine and drivetrain Cons: poor visability due to back seat headrests, radio antenna mount cracking
We ended up with the Vibe because we were getting sick of being "OPEC Prisoners". With gas going to over $2.00/gal, we decided to go with a more fuel effiecient car. We always really liked the Subaru's, Honda's and looked at the PT Cruiser, but we ...

dareviewsguy says 8 out of 10

Pros: Handling, braking, easy car to own. Str8line feel baby!! Cons: Needs more Power!
Great handler! Like a cat waiting to pounce on its prey. This things hauls and handles damn well. I've driven many cars this week in my search for my soul-mate including an SRT-4 and Subaru WRX. Those cars are good at what they do and it goes without saying the Vibe is one hell of a chip-shot behind going in a straight line. The vibe can handle though and its track on the road is a perfect line. I feel like I can go 150 in this thing!! I like the steering feel in this thing a lot. Dash layout is impressive for a domestic, very impressive. The engine can pull its weight but could use another couple stallions in the stable.
Fun to drive: 9
Acceleration: 5
Braking: 7
Handling: 7
Styling Exterior: 5
Styling Interior: 5
Everyday Driver: 10

Great car, great value, great buy!!
by ebayatic ,Mar 09 '05
Pros: Comfortable, cute, drivable, powerful, efficient, affordable Cons: A few cheap interior parts, automatic transmission acts odd at times, lower end warranty
The 2004 Pontiac Vibe is truly a great middle-road hatchback. While there are many luxury features lacking (leather seats, heated seats, etc.), there are still numerous options and great power packages, all for an affordable price. The engine suits the car well, with enough power for every situation, thanks to the innovative variable valve timing, and is easy on gas, getting well over 30 MPG average. The automatic transmission (as equipped, 5-speed manual is standard) works well, but is rather inconsistent in shifting patterns. The interior is comfortable, with plenty of head and leg room for four adults. There is ample cargo space, which is enhanced by numerous tiedowns and anchors. Pontiac has truly given you the option of making this car your very own-customize it at your will. If you have been looking at foreign-made cars, this one is definitely for you, since the Vibe is a Toyota Matrix (with a few Pontiac accessories). Buy a Pontiac Vibe and you won't be dissatisfied.
