Toyota...ooops I mean "Scion" grand slam!!!

by jrtrescue , Jan 17 '09
Pros: Reliable & easy to work on.
Cons: Dealer was pushy about buying a warranty/hocus pocus paint protection which I did not buy.
170K and still tight! Bought it new in Feb'04. Very roomy interior (great for transporting three Jack Russell Terriers girlfriend) and this box on wheels is very nimble. Vehicle stability control works great when driving on snow and anybody spins out ...

2006 Scion XB

by freeat62 , Mar 15 '07
Pros: economical, looks good, roomy, great 4speaker stereo, firm seats lots of pockets to store stuff
Cons: too low to ground,
I recently purchased a Scion XB (by toyota) I wanted something to replace my old & tired 1991 Chevy Sports van. It need to be roomy, as you get spoiled with all the room in a full sized van & unlike a 3/4 ton van, it needed to be fuel efficient. it also ...

SUV for the gas conscious.

by mmcginn1966 , Dec 25 '05
Pros: Gas mileage, roominess, comfort, simplicity
Cons: Acceleration, loud noise when back window is open, water in front window when open
I bought this car for the mileage and I'm impressed. If you stay 65 or under its even more impressive: 5-6 gallons for NY-PHIL trip. Interior is very roomy. I replaced an SUV and don't miss it. If you want luxury this is not the car for you. It is a ...

xB a great value

by socalxb , Sep 20 '05
Pros: body style, economy of ownership and operation, great mpg, incredibly roomy for passengers, Toyota reliability
Cons: should have cruise control as standard equipment, more interior lights (front/center and rear hatch area)
I have a 2005 polar white xB, manual trans, bought in May of '04, and have about 13K miles on it now. I'm 45 years old, and am having a ball with this car. It's inexpensive to own, operate, and insure, and the kids love riding around in it, especially ...

xB Bliss

by pepik2000 , Jan 22 '05
Pros: Amount of room, mileage, looks, sound system, seat comfort, A/C is icy cold
Cons: Ride with large rims is a little stiff, looks are love/hate - I love
I've been debating between the xB and the Element for almost a year and after test driving each (quite a few times) I realized that the xB was the right car for me. I had a 94 Toyota pickup with a Leer topper that I purchased to haul my dogs and ...

Almost perfect except for jolting ride, purchase process

by family_dude , Nov 10 '04
Pros: Interior space, Style, Fuel Economy, Driving Ease, tall seating position
Cons: Harsh jolting ride, long wait for car, limited availability and test drive before purchase
I've had my 2005 xB automatic for about a month, after a 3 month wait to get it. Being a practical, 6'1" tall 40-ish male that doesn't fit in every car, the extraordinary interior space, great fuel economy and Toyota quality rep are what attracted me, ...

xB = Big Car for Small Price

by habitatsk8r73 , Nov 03 '04
Pros: Smooth ride, great features, tons of options
Cons: Acceleration, not enough power
I had been driving a Mercedes C320 and I have had some bad luck with it, so I decided to go on the hunt for a reliable and more affordable car. My girlfriend was telling me about this new type of car Toyota was putting out and although I'm not a very big ...

xB Great for Seniors and Access Challenged

by houseproject , Nov 01 '04
Pros: Easy to Drive, Great Visibility, Senior Access Friendly
Cons: Can't say that I found anything really bad . . .
Overview : The Marketing for the Scion vehicles is targeting the young, first time car buyer market. A recent need identified during my Grandparents's car shopping has revealed another possible market. Background : My grandfather just turned 90. He ...

Great car (actually the 2005 xB), horrible buying experience

by northernmantis , Oct 15 '04
Pros: Excellent fuel economy, interior comfort, and smooth ride.
Cons: Slightly underpowered (auto is MUCH worse), horrible "order" purchase process.
I love this car! However, I did not have a good experience with the dealer (The Toyota/Scion dealer in Riverdale, UT). I will review the exterior, interior and options, performance for automatic AND manual transmissions, and my buying experience. ...

2005 Scion xB - cool car for Denver

by phodsdon , Aug 23 '04
Pros: Safe, 35mpg, traction control, cool blue lights
Cons: No armrests, mailtruck design.
I have owned this Scion now for over a month and I decided to update the review, now that I have lived the Scion experience. Check up the one month update at the bottom. I am not your typical xB profile car buyer; however I do have two teenage ...

Almost perfect!

by oarias , Jul 16 '04
Pros: Lots of legroom, great gas mileage, unmatched looks, Toyota reliability.
Cons: Some dealers are HORRIBLE thieves! Not much hip-room, interior styling could use some work.
Scion - The world's best car - The world's sleaziest dealers! Hmmm... a little over the top? Perhaps... But after almost 6 months of owning this car, I still have little to complain about.... except for my car dealer. However, I won't ...

Moms love it too!

by ayliesmom , Jul 09 '04
Pros: Fuel economy, small on the outside, big on the inside, looks cool
Cons: A bit slow to accelerate
I can't understand why there aren't more of these on the road. Most people are probably afraid to take a chance on a different looking car. I'm not and I'm glad I did! I bought this car without any options except a dealer-installed roof rack. It came ...

Very satisfied with this great little car

by dmiked , Jun 17 '04
Pros: Huge interior space with a tiny footprint and great mileage
Cons: The styling won't be for everyone, to say the least
Being a Gen-Xer, the xB has been my first new-car purchase ever. I've had it only a little over a week, but I can say this is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I bought the xB for four main reasons, in order of importance to me: 1. Fuel ...

xB brings dope skillz to 40 yr-old suburbanite

by strangedayz , Apr 23 '04
Pros: iconoclastic styling; capacious, functional interior; fuel efficiency; quiet ride, fine sound system; conversation starter
Cons: iconoclastic styling; leisurely acceleration with automatic; leisurely braking; driver's seat lower back/thigh support
June 2004 I've lived with my '04 Scion xB for a month now, and am nearing the 3,000 service interval. Fuel economy with the automatic tranny (and a/c cranked) has climbed from 27 mpg to 30 mpg in mixed city and highway driving. I've already repaired ...

Something Totally Different and Refreshing

Pros: Unique Styling, Tons of Room inside, and priced right!
Cons: Acceleration,No Cruise Control
The whole concept of the newest car division from TOYOTA is that of offering a whole different car buying approach for the consumer. Toyota's targeted demographic is at the generation Y group ages 9-23. Why 9 year olds are in this generation group is ...
