Pros: Power, stability, handling, material quality Cons: Could use a bit more engine refinement and chassis sharpness; rear seat cramped
Summary: There are not many Japanese cars with cachet. The Subaru WRX is one of them. For years both Subaru and Mitsubishi have successfully raced high-powered all-wheel-drive versions of their subcompacts in brutal rallies over lengthy unpaved roads. In Japan ... read more

Pros: Fast, powerful, handling awesome, safe, and AWD & disc brakes unbelievable & nice loud horn. Cons: I even like the noise the engine makes. Maybe a better stereo.
Summary: I am not what you would call a good driver having crashed all my cars- so many I gave up counting. I've had two broken legs, compound fractures but still healthy and alive working out at Bally's thanks to this Subaru! I'm 54 and this one I bought used ... read more

Pros: Great Value for a Performance Car that can carry STUFF!
Cons: None. The problems I did have were handled promptly by my dealer.
Summary: I'm taking a different tac on this review. The performance and specifications of this car are well known and researched at this point by many car magazines. Instead, I will outline the cars I was seriously planning on buying in lieu of the Subaru. It may ... read more

Pros: Dependable, good gas mileage, safe, AWD. Cons: Kind of boring body style.
Summary: I had leased a Subaru Forester, and LOVED it. Dependable, good mileage, could carry a TON of stuff. Great in the snow we get in Indiana. Well, I love cars, and would get new ones all the time if I could. I loved the Forester so much, I really was ... read more

Pros: Built like a brick. Handsome little devil. Cons: Radio, tires, hubcaps cheap as cheap can be - STILL.
Summary: I've revamped this review based on feedback received. I purchased a 2004 TS Sport Hatchback on 12/23/04. The dealer arbitrarily decided that my color request (silver) was more important than the miles (@400). In actuality, had I been more ... read more

Pros: Station wagon convenience without soccer mom styling. Fun to drive. Cons: Could use more silver trim inside. No grille to protect radiator. Steel wheels.
Summary: What I really wanted was a Chevy S-10. When I found out that insurance for the small truck would cost $600 more than a wagon per year, I changed my mind pretty quick. So I was pretty much left to choose between the Chevrolet Malibu Maxx and this car, ... read more

Pros: 4WD, decent power and handling, reasonable comfort and noise levels Cons: Expensive
Summary: If you're looking for a car with four-wheel drive, as I am, the Subarus are your obvious (and almost only) choice. Consequently, this is the first car I test-drove in my quest to find a replacement for my aging Mazda MX3. Below are my impressions, ... read more

Pros: AMAZING thrust, capable handling, reasonably comfortable interior, AMAZING thrust, great brakes
Cons: Jittery ride, v8-style mileage, cheesy interior for >$30K car, rear wing attracts attention/hinders view
Summary: I own a 2002 WRX. And love it. Very much. I drive it every day, and look forward to getting into the car. I've long wanted to drive an STI, but the dealer's always been difficult about getting me into one for a test. And I don't like lying to them, ... read more

Pros: Sport styling, handling, acceleration after 30mph, cargo room. Cons: A tad pricey, lack of low-range power, TERRIBLE TIRES!!!
Summary: This is a review of the '04 WRX Wagon. I've had it for about nine months/8000miles now, and I absolutely love it. It has some faults, but overall this is one amazing car! Paid $24k including extended warranty. A fair price for what you get, but ... read more

Pros: Power, Handling, Braking ability, AWD, Cool Interior, 4 doors, back seats, Bang for buck. Cons: They Americanized the suspension and the seats, should have left them in Euro spec.
Summary: I've owned the STi for a little over a month now and here are my observations. Although it's no Porsche in the looks department it definitely has it's own muscular appeal to it. The enormous bird catching hood scoop which all of my dads friends like ... read more

Pros: Quick, responsive, and lots of torque. Cons: Backlit instruments, no stock radio, slight push in corners.
Summary: At the 6 month and 7K miles stage, Im still very happy with my WRX STi. With the exception of a few annoyances, the car continues to be great fun to drive. I purchased the car in January (and I live in Minnesota), so the stock tires were not ... read more

Summary: Subaru cars have a well deserved reputation for reliability and durability and their tenacious grip in the snow belt areas. Rally Racing is Subaru's other claim to fame. Though Rally racing is not big here in the states, elsewhere it is serious sport. ... read more

Pros: Power, Price is right fun to drive. Cons: Not good on the highways unless your going 100 miles an hour.
Summary: OK, let me get this VERY clear. The information you will be reading underneath this did NOT come from a magazine. I sold Subaru for 4 months and I have the information memorized. In taking the STI out for weekly test-drives was my excitement of the week. ... read more

Pros: Solid and quiet, powerful, handling, brakes, all wheel drive, reputation for reliability Cons: Poor factory tires, no folding rear seats, paint chips easily, throttle response, weak stereo, turbolag
Summary: I've had the car for about six months now and have been very happy overall. I bought the car because I wanted a small car that handles and has a good amount of power. I also wanted something with a solid reputation for reliability. All wheel drive was a ... read more

Pros: Trusty and engaging road manners, gurgly engine note, standard all-wheel-drive, loads of character. Cons: Not as fast or grippy as a true sport compact, unexceptional interior, loud engine note.
Summary: My Experience I test drove a 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS at a local dealership. My test drive lasted about half an hour, and covered city streets, the freeway, and an abandoned military base that served as an impromptu autocross course. ... read more

Pros: Heart stopping power delivery, amazing torque, lovely styling, DCCD, big 2.5L engine, Subaru reliability Cons: Sloppy steering with slight understeer, steering not that quick
Summary: The 2004 Subaru WRX STi is just an amazing driving machine, bred for pure performance driving. It has its roots in the World Rally Championship, not very well known here in the US. STi is Subaru's in-house tuner, "Subaru Tecnica International". ... read more
