Pros: The electronic stability controls and turbo response of this car are seamless. Cons: The Pirelli P-Zeros tires are a bit soft for potholes. Also useless in snow.
I have been shopping for another car for a very long time. I am 6'4",225 lbs., and it is not an easy task. I also sold cars for 10 years so I have driven many new vehicles. I have a passion for the older ones-they have a little more "soul". Enter ...
Pros: Power, well bolstered seats, low profile enough not to be a cop magnet. Cons: Radio getting interference from my cell phone, back seat room, trunk a bit small
I am convinced that this is the best sports sedan for the money in just about every area to be evaluated. First let me set this up by telling you all that I have owned a 236hp, automatic S70-T5 for the last ~6 years (see my review from a couple of yeas ...
Pros: Comfortable ride and a capable road handler Cons: Can be tight in the back seat
Volvos are some of my favorite European sedans, with their obvious strength being exceptional safety engineering, but increasingly being just as focused on style and performance as their often glitzier imaged competitors. Case in point is the S60, which ...

Pros: High handling limits, power once boost up, front seat comfort Cons: Boost lag, lacks agility expected of a compact
There are two types of automotive brands. Most profess to seek a powerful, distinct image yet their attempts to offer everything to everyone persistently undermine this stated goal. Others actually possess a distinct image, yet strive to broaden it to ...
Pros: AWD, Handling, Interior, and... POWER! Cons: Brakes, audio and the need to purchase winter tires.
Traded out of a 2000 Audi A6 into the 2004 S60R with 6 speed manual. After over 5000 miles and 5 months, the car is STILL fun to drive. The three handling options allow the driver to adjust responsiveness and road feel at the push of a button... a ...
I was on the lookout for a new company car, and it was down to the Volvo S60 T5, the BMW 330i or the Audi A4 3.0. Due to the delivery time of the two others I ended up with the Volvo. The first thing I noticed was that it was quite as dull as I had ...
Pros: Quick acceleration, Price, Interior quality. Cons: Exterior design could be a bit more exciting.
Volvo has continuously boasted more safety features than the majority of automobile manufacturers, but better handling, better acceleration, handsome looks? Hardly. With a few exceptions, it seems as though Volvo has ignored the fact that many people who ...
Pros: +silent +comfortable seats +new technology that works in the car +practical Cons: -lack of power and torque

Pros: Exterior Design, Safety Features, Climate Control Design, Smooth Ride, Turbo Rush is Literally a Blast! Cons: Interior Quality, Turbo Lag, Mushy Brakes, Completely Numb Steering, Interior Space Efficiency (or lack thereof)
Last year (2004), my parents traded-in their 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S for a Platinum Green S60 2.5T. We had the same beefs with the Altima as many owners have had with it the extremely poor interior fit and finish, at least 4 recalls, and just an ...
Pros: Fun to drive
Seperate A/C control for the from and rear Cons: Way too small for a 4 door sedan
I didn't buy the car, only rented it for 3 days. So am not able to comment on the long term maintenence requirement. I was quite excited when I was given the Volvo form the rental company (Enterprise). Specially since I had only made ...
Pros: Superb front seats, high-quality interior, far more refined than past Volvos. Cons: Cramped rear seat, uneven turbo power delivery, un-sporting handling and control feel.
My Experience I recently attended a Ride & Drive event hosted by Road and Track magazine. At the event, I got to drive three sport-luxury sedans on autocross-style tracks--three cone courses laid out at Alameda Point naval station. The vehicles ...
Pros: SOUND, DESIGN, UNIQUE FEATURES, LOST OF ROOM, HUGE TRUNK, GREAT SOFT- HIGH CLASS LEATHER Cons: STEERING A BIT DIFFICULT.
It's seriously has great steering stability- maybe too sturdy yet it drives like you are in an airplane. I had to sleep in my car once and I felt I was sleeping in my bed! Gas mileage is pretty good compared to other luxury cars. It's a unique car with small things that really make a difference. The way the stereo and music is compiled is incredible! Sound system is absolutely complete, and it also has a clever and accessible way of turning up the volume and adjusting the stations. The design is very easy and clean and it is always in mindful of you and others.
Must I say anything about safety? It's a Volvo.
My first Volvo saved my life, so did my second Volvo.
I wish I could rate it even higher. It deserves it!
S60 turbo is a whole lot of fun by mares1 ,Nov 26 '04
Pros: Free service for the first 35000 miles.Solid luxury.Feeling of safety.Awesome power.Flawless interior. Cons: Gas mileage is in low 20s/mpg. Cramped backseat.
I agree with everyone thus far. The car is very well appointed and the front seats are beyond comfortable. But with a three- and four-year old in tow the back is a bit cramped.
Nonetheless I pile them up in the car and drive off with a whole lot of fun to boot. This car has made driving fun again!
Beware though, the zoom on this baby has you ignoring speed limits, it just does NOT feel like you are going fast although you look down at the speedometer and oops! There you are at 80 mph.
